Robert David Jordan, 57, was convicted of malice murder in the slaying of Jimmy Anglin, 27, who disappeared from his Oglethorpe County home in November 2017.
Anglin’s remains would not be found until nearly two years later in 2019, when a skull and some bones were found several hundred feet from a home where Jordan had lived in the county, according to Northern Circuit District Attorney Parks White.

Anglin’s remains were identified through DNA analysis, according to White and evidence also showed he died from a shotgun blast.

As for a motive, prosecutors showed that “Mr. Jordan had taken advantage of Mr. Anglin for quite some time.”
Anglin was on a disability fixed income and Jordan frequently took the payments, but Anglin threatened to cut him off from this practice, according to White.
In addition, Jordan was upset over giving Anglin a set of model cars to sell because he was to get half of the money, but Jordan claimed Anglin did not give him his share, according to White.
