Bringing this forward from last thread.
Is it so hard to do a simple proofread to ensure the victim's name is spelled correctly? "Katie Jahnness"

BBM .. Great, so unrelated to this case. Pointless.

I'm surprised that reporters have been given this sensitive information and haven't 'leaked it'. Or maybe one did about a month ago and he was the one who was admonished in the press release by APD.

Piedmont Park murder reminds investigators of decades-old cold case
Remember FOX Atlanta was also the media outlet that caused confusion in the witness count. I mentioned then and its worth reiterating, their coverage has been sloppy imho.

HEAR IT: 911 Call, Security Footage Released After Piedmont Park Murder of Katherine Janness & Beloved Dog

''The Atlanta Police Department released a 911 call Wednesday, made after the fiancee of slain Georgia woman, Katherine Janness, found her stabbed to death in Atlanta’s popular Piedmont Park.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, the incident happened July 28 off of 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive. Janness, 40, told her fiancee, Emma Clark, she was taking a walk with their dog, Bowie, after dinner. It was the last time Clark spoke to Janness.

When Janness failed to return home, Clark reportedly traced Janness’ location by using a phone app. Clark found both Janness and Bowie dead at the entrance of Piedmont Park at around 1 a.m.

The Atlanta Police Department described the scene as “gruesome” and said the victim was found stabbed numerous times.''

Good summary. Not sure it was ever established that they were engaged (one outlet also called Katie Emma's "wife"). The CrimeOnline article could use some editing.

"The incident happened Wednesday at around 1 a.m. off of 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive. Katherine Janness, 40, told her husband she was taking a walk with her dog, Bowie, and was never seen alive again
(she was actually seen alive in the crosswalk photo)

...“It’s a gruesome scene,” said Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. “Upon their arrival, they did, in fact, find a female deceased in the park, appears to be from some type of stable wounds.”

Maybe a horse committed the crime.

The article also refers to "Chata Sparks, APD’s director of public affairs", but her name is Chata Spikes.

CrimeOnline is a Nancy Grace company, so not surprising that it's riddled with errors.

That guy in that video sure looked menacing in his behavior when the woman spoke up to him. TL4S, I see exactly what you mean. If there were no bystanders, I cannot imagine. Those people are all true heroes especially with children there.

<modsnip: Please do not tell other members what to do.>Notice the reporters, anchors, victims mention nothing about a knife in this report. Nothing mentioned about anything in his left hand. I recall seeing witness & victim faces blurred out but not alledged suspects. The cropping in this version of the video is convenient too. The man who intervened was pretty close. Wish they could have interviewed him.

''It’s nerve-racking knowing that a killer is on the loose,” senior Jamie Roode said. “This is the kind of stuff that I watch in “Criminal Minds.” It really shouldn’t happen in real life.”
“Since the murder, I haven’t been walking at night,” Maggard said. “I try not to be coming home super late from anywhere, and I am just more vigilant altogether. This was an awful occurrence, and I really hope that they catch whoever did this.”

Roode works at Sean’s Heart of the Park, which is located not far from where the two bodies were found. The restaurant is taking new precautions since the murder, especially for those working later shifts. According to Roode, employees have been told to return to their cars together and walk in the street where lights and cameras are present.

“I know that they’re taking precautions, which is assuring, but still, of course, you’re going to be scared,” Roode said. “I mean as a girl, it’s terrifying literally anywhere
. And after the murder, [there is] no way that I want to walk over there. It’s still really scary.”

''After the murder, Roode said she feels “very unsafe” when outside no matter the time or her location, and says she will likely begin carrying her pepper spray in her hand instead of her purse.''

“To all the guys who are going to read this story, just make sure that you protect your female or non-binary friends, and make sure that you’re keeping them safe,” Roode said. “If a murderer sees you with a man, there’s probably a lesser chance that they’ll attack.''

What exactly are "stable wounds"?

I really love that they are taking precautions and warning people. I've been so worried that this story hasn't gotten the attention it's deserved, and that there is a violent killer on the loose! Protect your female friends, ladies and gents!

I agree! I want them to find this maniac and make an arrest so bad. This case has disturbed me so very much.

Is CrimeOnline a blog? It's not a media source. There was no "after dinner" (as refuted by Emma in interview), and other errors, make me think this is not an actual source, or something that should be given credibility. It also says this: "
Katherine Janness, 40, told her husband she was taking a walk with her dog, Bowie, and was never seen alive again."

"husband"
So not accurate.
