Thanks @oviedo that must be it. I asked this after reading through the Donald Jones thread. He was found one day and identified 3 days later. Perhaps he was able to be id’d by family, but his remains were reported as “skeletal”. It was confusing to me that one could be identified so quickly and another take months.

Three people charged with murder:

John Lashea Bailey, 22, Taj Dialo Gayle, 21, and Justin Lewis Path, 29, were charged with murder in connection to this case. All three suspects were already in custody at the Chatham County Jail on other charges.

Look up Justin Path, one of those arrested. He has also been charged in a massive drug sting. We have said from the beginning that SPD was holding Mel's case up and going after the drugs and gangs. SPD, GBI and the rest used Melanie.
