She was last seen on Jan. 17 at an assisted living facility in Buckhead.

ATLANTA — A Mattie's Call has been issued for a missing 70-year-old Buckhead woman diagnosed with brain cancer and dementia, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Michele Fitzgerald was last seen on Wednesday, Jan. 17, around 8 p.m. on the 8th floor of Heartis Buckhead, an assisted living facility located at 2051 Peachtree Street NE.

A woman with dementia is missing and Atlanta police are asking for your help in locating her.

Michele Fitzgerald, 70, was last seen on Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. dining with friends at her apartment building at 2051 Peachtree Road NE.

Her nurse and a group of her friends searched the entire building but were unable to find her.

Building staff reviewed security camera footage but were not able to determine where she went.

It is very worrying that she wasn't seen leaving on the security cameras. I hope they checked the stairwell. It seems as if that would be obvious, but there were at least two cases where missing hospital patients were found deceased in stairwells days after they went missing.
