Speaking in general, some people have two jobs. When I hear someone is at work at 6am and back by 9am, I think of a part time job like paper delivery.

I believe they are escorting her "for her safety" considering what she is being accused of.
My guess is the other two kids will be removed from that house altogether, at least temporarily, for their safety, and should be, if they have not been already. I would wager they already have been. JMO

Questions about what exactly? They will take parents from jail in handcuffs to take them to family court hearings. It's not uncommon. LS isn't incarcerated or charged with his death yet. She will likely be at all hearings until possible TPR.
