There is no #YSL/#YoungThug trial today but some of the defendants that were severed have a hearing today in front of Judge Alford Dempsey. Some were severed before jury selection began for not having attorneys and others during jury selection for different reasons.

First defendant was Miles Farley, who is the only defendant that was granted bond after being severed from the case.Anastasios Manettas, who represents Farley, said he is not taking the plea deal offered by the state and is ready for trial.

Here is the reason why Farley was granted bond

ADA Hylton: "Any offers that were made will be withdrawn after today."

Second defendant was Damekion Garlington, who is being represented by Thomas Mondelli.

Mondelli said they are declining the state's offer, but asked to be allowed to keep negotiating with the state but Judge Dempsey said that this is the final day for accepting pleas.

"Today is the last opportunity to make a negotiated plea. Anything after today is going to be non-negotiated regardless of whether the state or the defendant has negotiated something," Dempsey said.

"We put this on the calendar a good while back. This case has been going on since God created Adam," Dempsey added.

The third defendant was Khalieff Adams, but his attorney did not speak on the mic so it was hard to hear what she said.

The fourth defendant was Damone Blalock, whose attorney is Justin Hill. Blalock was severed after he became sick during jury selection, even over Hill and Blalock asking to remain on the case and the defense objections, Glanville removed him from the case.

Justin Hill said Blalock wishes to reject the state's offer and asked to be place on a trial calendar.

Dempsey raised the issue after a defendant spoke and told him that he didn't even know his attorney.

"There's a lack of attorneys available to handle these type of cases...When a request is made for an attorney to be appointed to represent a defendant, it takes forever."

Dempsey said that sometimes defendants have had more than one attorney after a lawyer left the public defender's office or the Georgia Public Defender Council.

The defendant who spoke with Dempsey was Jevon Fleetwood, who is represented by Mohammed Luwemba. Luwemba had a family emergency and couldn't be in court today.

Fleetwood's final plea will remain open since Luwemba wasn't present in court.

Fleetwood's case was severed for not having an attorney when trial began in January 2023.

The next defendant was Demise McMullen, represented by Meng Lim. Lim said he still doesn't have discovery but as soon as he gets it he will do his best to get his case ready for trial, after he was recently appointed.

McMullen did not have an attorney when trial began in January 2023, so that was the reason he was severed.

The next defendant was Javoris Bradford, represented by Aisha Broderick. His attorney said Bradford is rejecting the state's offer and is ready for trial.

Bradford was severed for not having an attorney when trial began.

Next defendant was Justin Cobb, with his new attorney Kareem Kashlan, who just filed an entry of appearance on June 4.

His final plea will remain open for his attorney to catch up. Cobb was severed because he still hasn't been arrested.

"(Justin Cobb) is the last defendant that hasn't been arrested," ADA Hylton said.

The next defendant is Tenquarius Mender, who is represented by Nicole Fegan, who said they are rejecting the state's plea offer and are ready for trial.Mender was severed after Fegan became pregnant during jury selection.

Fegan was also recently arrested for an unrelated case.

Jimmy Winfrey, who is represented by Dennis Francis, told Judge Dempsey he wants to change attorneys because Francis has been ineffective.

Francis is out of the country right now.

Dempsey said they are going to wait until Francis is here to make a decision.

Dempsey said Winfrey's family can hire an attorney and replace him.

Attorney Teombre Calland, who represents Kahlieff Adams, came back up and told Judge Dempsey that they are rejecting the state's offer and are ready for trial.

Similar to Mender, Adams' case was severed after Calland became pregnant.

He was the last defendant heard today.

On Friday, multiple defendants associated with YSL appeared in court for a hearing on plea deals that were offered. Several defendants rejected the plea offers, now heading toward trials. "This case has been going on since God created Adam," Judge Alford Dempsey said.
