"There is absolutely no reason they should get to run this courtroom. I'm not asking to run it, I'm asking you (Judge Whitaker) to run it," Weinstein said. "You have the ability to put a time clock on the state.""I'm running it," Whitaker said.
"We are way past the amount of time that we've told the jurors that they will be here and that is a factor that you can consider," Weinstein continued.
"I will not permit there to be excessive, repetitive witness after witness saying the same thing, exhibit after exhibit showing the same thing," Whitaker said.
"I'm not sure I know, at this stage, given that we have not gotten through one incredibly long and somewhat painful witness testimony, what that time limit might be," Whitaker said, adding that she doesn't expect any other witness to be as long as Copeland has been on the stand.
The state is that no other witness should take as long as Copeland.There has been a lot of witnesses that have taken several days, but the state argued that there were delays/breaks that caused them to extend for several days.
Court will resume tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. to allow defendants to eat lunch before court.
