Somebody just commented on Dr. Godwin's FB page wondering if he is the one who turned in Ryan. If so, I wonder if Bo did it and turned in Ryan so he would get the lesser charge. The classmate on the podcast said killing Tara would more be something Bo would do than something Ryan would do.

His bond amount seems low, but I'm not familiar with what's standard. To me, he needs to be charged as an accessory. He may not have murdered her, but sounds like he was very involved afterward.

"He faces multiple charges, including: Concealing the death of Tara Grinstead, tampering with evidence, which was*destroying evidence, which was the body of Tara Grinstead, and hindering the apprehension of a criminal."

BD has obviously got a deal he's been helping gbi for a while he's gonna walk while Ryan's only one whose going to spend time in prison for Tara murder.
RIP Tara and I'm so sorry for her family and friends you deserved so much better.
Everyone who was involved should be heavily punished for causing 12 years of torture to Tara's Family.
Why's Bo grassed now why not years ago maybe if he'd come forward within the first year yeah give him a deal but not now 12 YEARS later FFS how does it make him any better than Ryan.
Rant over sorry.

He's not getting called an accessory because the GBI have given him a deal let's face it.
If there wasn't a deal he'd be charged with being an accessory.
I didn't think he was smart enough how he talks on reddit and the UAV boards but he's played the GBI and won.

I don't think it's petty at all. I got the impression Tara was close to her mother and it's heartbreaking to me that she died not knowing what happened to her daughter.

This burns my butt!

After all the suffering the disappearance of Tara caused her family, the false suspects, and the community, he gets a cheap get out of jail card? Doesn't seem fair since BD's sat on this knowledge for all this time.

i agree, im from tara"s home town hawkinsville. and imo the fact that rd is possibly deathly ill, and a big spotlight has been thrown on the nature of why authorities have been so offbase has me wondering if rd is covering someones rear for a payout to his family before he passes via reward money from the tipster or from the bd hudson fam. maybe im crazy but something reaks of cover up. funny how outta town media cracked open the can of worms neccessary to magically unearth an arrest. dont ya think

to be honest, from all thats been swirling round my hometown, some elements of the LE in that area are compromised. thats why the gag order was implemented. outta town media stirred up a frenzy. payne lindseys podcast had quite the outside the box insight on the case. and that mounting speculation pressured a cover up to be put in place, a tipster magically appears with detremental info that leads gbi leos to the right people to crack this thing. on top of that the guy allegdedly responsible might not live to be sentenced. smh. hopefully im just crazy. but sometime aint right man.

So her body hasnt been found?
They probably both were there that night and killed her. They both need to be thrown in jail.
Cant believe he got out on bond.

snipped

I small towns don't always know what other small towns are doing.

Ain't that the truth. That even applies to small and/or mostly rural counties.

As for what should be in the system, over the years I've learned there's a whole lot that doesn't seem to show up until after X amount of digging has been done.

AJC, Channel 2 appeal gag order in Tara Grinstead case

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Channel 2 Action News are challenging a sweeping gag order issued by a south Georgia judge in the case of Irwin County teacher Tara Grinstead’s disappearance and murder.

Issued this week by Superior Court Judge Melanie Cross, of the Tifton Judicial Circuit, the order prohibits police, potential witnesses, court personnel and family members of both Grinstead and her alleged killer from making statements about the case.

In a legal petition filed Friday, lawyers for the AJC and Channel 2 said the order was entered without notice or a hearing and “sweeps far too broadly to comply with First Amendment rights.”

MY GOSH! Stephen McDaniel who killed and dismembered Lauren Giddings, pretty much the same as what happened here IMO, had a HUGE BAIL! I dont rmember what it was but 800k?? Some rediculous amount, obviously so he couldnt make bail IMO, tho Im not sure that is legal but this is ludicrous!!!

No body left, no matter what happened, probably dismembered her, God that hurts to say that! OR maybe she was in the house that burned, the cadaver hit there, dont know where else they took cadaver dogs, does anyone know? Did they take them out to the orchard? Dont know if they'd hit anything now tho, not sure.....who led them to the orchard? I thought I remembered hearing that RD did not........so who did? Maybe Im mistaken but apparently someone thought the house burning 2 weeks after her disspearance was suspicious ...............SMH ALL JMO

Tara Grinstead's sister says she's known suspect's family for years: 'It's unreal'

The GBI said that someone walked into a sheriff's office last month with information that led to several new interviews and Ryan Duke's arrest.

I am not convinced it has been Dukes who came in and started talking. I think it is someone else who knew about it and knew they both were involved. If Dukes had told them last month he participated in the disposal of the body and destroying evidence they would have arrested him then. These are after the fact charges. I do think the GBI has evidence to prove it was Ryan Duke who did the murder and not Dukes.

Plus the GBI isn't going to just go on the words of someone alone without anything else. Simple words said by anyone would not be enough for probable cause for an arrest. So whoever is talking to LE it isn't Dukes imo. The person who came in last month may have shown them where an item/s belonging to Tara was located and that would back up their statement.

The GBI did say they have uncovered more evidence against the murder suspect (RD) since his arrest. I think he is the only one that killed her and Dukes was his best buddy and agreed to help him dispose of her body.

Whoever is talking to LE that helped solve this case more than likely had been told that Dukes was involved in the removal of the body and cover up. In a lot of these cold cases they are finally solved because the participant or participants ran their mouths to someone that would finally tell what they know.

Dukes family probably has money and money talks in a small town so that is probably why the bond amount is low. He was probably called by the GBI saying he was going to be arrested and was allowed to turn himself in with his lawyer present. That does happen in some cases.

I am glad to see the media agrees with me on the gag order. It is way too overly broad and violates the first amendment rights...especially the rights of Tara's family members when the Judge has no control over what they do or say.
