*Trial continues with Jury Selection (Day 3) (@ 9:30am ET) - GA - Tara Faye Grinstead (29) (Oct. 22, 2005, Ocilla) – *Ryan Alexander Duke (21 @ time of crime/33/now 38) arrested (2/23/17), indicted (4/2017) & arraigned (5/4/17) with 2 counts of felony murder & 1 count of malice murder, aggravated assault, burglary & concealing death of another. Plead not guilty. Held without bail.
Trial set to begin on 5/2/22 with jury selection. (should last 4 to six weeks). Two of those weeks will be dedicated to jury selection.

About the #TaraGrinstead case-I’ve always wondered why appointed lawyer for #RyanDuke would waive his right to a pre-indictment probable cause hearing where police would be required to explain their charges under oath. It’s vital to learn as much as possible as soon as possible

Are you sure? I can't see CourtTV abandoning the Depp trial. Maybe they will run it on their YT channel, though.

Actually, if there's no live tweeting allowed from the courtroom and phones prohibited, it does not follow that the trial would be live streamed via Court TV or any other outlet. Do we have the courtroom decorum Order? Appears to me that expanded media coverage (EMC) was not granted. JMO

IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. — Opening statements are scheduled for Monday in Irwin County, for the trial for the disappearance and death of Tara Grinstead, a teacher and beauty queen.

Channel 2′s Tony Thomas got a preview of what evidence both the prosecution and defense plan to show.

Three things are expected to play key roles in this trial: Bo Dukes’ testimony (the defendant’s friend and the only one already convicted in connection with this case), a confession from defendant Ryan Duke that he says was a lie and a latex glove found just outside Grinstead’s house.

I find it odd that so many reports expected jury selection to take two weeks.

Actually, if there's no live tweeting allowed from the courtroom and phones prohibited, it does not follow that the trial would be live streamed via Court TV or any other outlet. Do we have the courtroom decorum Order? Appears to me that expanded media coverage (EMC) was not granted. JMO

Court TV and a local news outlet have cameras set up in courtroom.

I'm covering the trial for UaV so I've sat in on all the proceedings thus far. Laptops are OK, phones are a NO

The defense team in the #TaraGrinstead trial appears set to offer an alibi for Ryan Duke and allege that it was Bo Dukes instead of Ryan Duke who left the residence in the middle of the night when the murder is said to have occurred. This is part is no surprise. How they prove that remains to be seen but it is certainly intriguing.
