Vicente Cruz was reported missing after his friend said he met someone to sell his truck and she has not heard from him since.

Vicente Cruz's friend said he arranged a meeting on Monday on Grand Avenue in Atlanta with someone whom he met on Craiglist to sell his Ford F-150.

She said that once they were at the designated meeting spot, he told her to leave because it would take awhile to check the truck.

Cruz said he would call his friend, but he never did. He was reported missing on Wednesday.

The meetup happened on May 1, Cruz was reported missing on May 3. He was last seen at 705 S. Grand Ave. NW in Atlanta.
Atlanta Police Lt. Ricardo Vazquez said that police recovered Cruz's vehicle at a motel located at 1641 Peachtree Street on May 2. There was blood inside the vehicle, Vazquez said. Cruz did not a have a room at the motel, and the vehicle was not registered to anyone at the motel.

This article says that they went to sell the truck on May 1. Girlfriend went with him, I'm guessing in another vehicle so that they could drive home after selling truck. But he told her to leave. The articles posted above say the truck was found on May 2 with blood inside, but then this article says the girlfriend reported him missing on May 3.

I'm thinking the truck was found before he was reported missing then LE put 2 and 2.

This guy is in extreme danger if not deceased, I'm very worried.

He looks like he's possibly an immigrant and they carry a lot of cash because they tend to not have bank accounts. They get targeted to get "rolled" (robbed) often. The blood in the truck is very concerning.

So, this is a bit suspicious on multiple levels. The girlfriend was last to see him, and it's only her word that he met someone to sell the truck. Hinky.

The guy tells her to go because it will take a while to check out the truck and she doesn't report him missing for TWO days. Seems odd. Easy enough for LE to verify he actuslly had a Craigslist ad, but could she have set him up??

ETA...He was found deceased May 22 but I couldn't find anything in the news at that time and I am pretty local.

Ok. Sorry, I am creating 2 posts back to back but I wanted to respond more but I had responsibilities that took over an hour.

Cruz's body was found behind a vacant home in the 700 block of North Evelyn Place in northwest Atlanta, police said.

A man walking his dog “smelled a strong odor coming from the back yard” and called police, according to an incident report. When officers arrived, they found the body wrapped in plastic.

On Tuesday, police in San Antonio arrested Gilbert George Moran, 39, in connection with Cruz’s death, according to the FBI.

That came days after authorities arrested David Lee Rios, 34, of San Antonio, on Aug. 29, Emmett said.

Rios and Moran are in custody in Texas while they await extradition to Georgia, Emmett said.

The FBI charged Rios and Moran with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution when it was learned they had gone to Texas, Emmett said..
