Sadly, I agree with some of the other posters here. My guess is that "Daddy" was either abusing the girls himself, or he was "selling" them to these nasty men.

Sad world out there. :(

This kind waitress actually went outside to see if Sherwood's car had any camping equippment in it. Thank you, Karen Griggs.

The filthy that hurt these girls is named Lloyd Luis Burrlin Sherwood and he hails out of Williston, Florida. :furious: God only knows how many more kids he has hurt and what he was going to do with those two little girls. That "father" is a backward creep and I hope they lock them both up together along with anyone else who had anything to do with letting these poor girls go with this freak.

Oh and Mr. Pervert (aka Lloyd Sherwood) owns a cleaning business.

Imagine if this creep had to go into homes to clean carpets or whatever he supposedly does for a living. Imagine how many kids that could have been harmed by this filthy freak!:furious:

This case has pissed me off beyong belief! I am so freaking angry that the parents of these little girls are not in jail right now.
They are just as guilty as the Perv, and remember dear ol' dad actually seen the pictures the pervert made of the little girls.

UGH! Please let LE do the right thing and lock them up.

Oh this has me right PO'd as well, Pixies. :furious::furious::furious:

There's like 100 and some sex offenders at that freaks zipcode. I looked on the National Registry and I think it was around 160 or something like that. So, no doubt the parents of these kids live there too. Yeah they deserve to have the living crappolla knocked out of them, and be locked up. My heart is breaking for those two little girls.

Who and I mean who lets their little girls go with some dude on a camping trip? Let alone not even know where the h*ll the guy is taking them. I have not one doubt that if that waitress didn't use her instincts and have the guts to call LE these little girls were not going back to Florida. Ever! I know these parents knew. They knew! They freakin KNEW!:furious::furious:

I'm not a person that immediately blames parents. I keep the blame right on the perverts. However in some cases it's the parents themselves who are directly to blame. Right here is a case.:furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:

I am so glad that those little girls are safe now. How could the dad just let that *advertiser censored* take them?!!!:furious: I sure hope that he is charged with child endangerment at least!

Did anyone read the comments on the original post from Lisahas2cats?? This is just a comment from the Channel 9 page (so info is not verified):

"This is Robin again.I read on one of the comments about how somebody like Karen deserves to have good things happen to her. Well I'm sorry to tell you this but what Karen got for her great service was that she got fired because she talked to the press. Where the Waffle House should have been proud to have such a wonderful person working for them, they fired her because it's against their policy for any employ talking to the press about anything."

WHAT??? Waffle House FIRED her??? If this is true -- I will NEVER eat at a Waffle House again. Unbelievable!!

Waitress Karen Griggs says one look was all it took for her to know that something was wrong with the two young girls who walked into the Waffle House on Connector 3 in Whitfield County with a 66-year-old man Saturday night.
Police say that hunch got a suspected child molester off the streets.

Although I hate reading these awful stories I am so glad this one had a better ending. Bless that waitress and all who keep an eye out for those who cannot protect themselves.

I read in our local paper that someone noticed a little one with sunglasses (2 years) hiding black eyes, called authorities and upon checking him discovered he had a fractured skull.

Hoping these children recover and get the love and care all children deserve.

Upon reading the article I noticed in the comments section someone stated the waitress had been fired for speaking to the press, I certainly hope not!

I love it when people trust their instincts! Kudos to this woman for calling the police!!

HOWEVER, what the heck is the father doing letting these girls go with this man when there were already "warning signs"? What?! Definitely some serious child neglect IMO. I'm just glad they are safe now....

I agree completely with you. He even saw the pictures, only he deleted them instead of ripping this 's head off. I don't know what people think. It's scary.

Here's where I sent an e-mail. I just noted that I wanted to say a huge thank you to a very brave Ms. Riggs. I mentioned that runor has it the waitress was fired and if that was true I'll boycott Waffle House as I am sure many others would do as well.

Truth be told we don't have this chain up in our parts. I heard they are very good though. Ms. Riggs truly deserves to be commended for standing up and helping those lil ones.

I sent this to the author of the story. I'll let you know if I hear back.

"Tanya - rumor has it that the waitress at the Wafflehouse that saved the two little girls has been fired. Can you confirm this? I believe Ms. Griggs is a hero and, if true, firing her would just be so wrong. Any update you can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you"

Thanks for the link. I sent one too. Let them know if this rumor proves true, there will be quite A LOT of blogs boycotting them online, and I would tell every person I know.
I don't really like that place anyway. Not much of a loss for me.

I emailed the reporter with Newschannel 9 yesterday, as well. No response yet. I'm trying to contact the poster on the Channel 9 board to see if they can provide more info on this forum. I'll let you know if I get a response. Every time I start thinking about this - I just get furious! It sends the WRONG message to every day line employees of Waffle House (Don't make waves. Don't report anything suspicious--You'll get fired.). Rrrrrrgggghhh!!

I suspect StillHoping is right. The "dad" prolly sold his daughters to this nasty piece of work, and may very well have abused them himself. That the guy was on his way out of state smacks of child trafficking too, imnsho.

And where is the mother in this? Very fishy. As everyone has already expressed, those parents need to be investigated. And the children should be kept in protective custody and placed with a family who cherishes children rather than abusing them.

Imho, there is a lesson in this, and that lesson was from the waitress, Karen Griggs: it is better to report suspected abuse and be wrong, than to not report it and be right. Kudos to Karen!

This woman is a hero! She helped these little girls escape the horrors of hell. However, the system will probably be lenient on the father and this pedophile.

Unless we fight the system, it will never change. Society is still under the impression that it's only sex and the children will be okay. No they will not! I am also a survivor of extreme emotional, physical and sexual abuse.

And, my instincts tell me the mother of these girls is probably mentally ill and abused. Too many women see what is going on with their children, but, unable to ferociously defend themselves and their children.

God bless this woman who is an Angel. The girls will love her forever!!!!!!!! Guaranteed.

Wonder if this guy paid Dad. This sickens me! Thank GOD for that waitress!

That sucks that they would turn people away that want to show their gratitude. You would think they would like the extra business, though I'm sure not all gift givers are ordering.
If I lived there, I would just go in and order, and leave a gift when I left.
