I think your last observation most pertinent Makara. It would seem that an ION Scanner is probably not the most accurate form of detection for Hoochy Coochy, but it probably gives the prison security a method to rely on when turning away nuisance visitors who turn up consistently stoned to the eyeballs. NBC might pick up these traces from the handrail on the way in, so I would hazard a guess that pretty much everyone entering a prison regularly, will return a number of false positives. Simply to visit a prisoner does not give the prison the right to perform a urine sample test on the visitor (much less chance of false positive) so they need some form of detection to rely upon, to vet the stoned idiots at their discretion. This the reason that NBC has not had visits affected from the test results.
The question is, who provided the information to the courier mail, and who is continuing to rattle NBC cage? I think you are right, and someone in the QPS remains interested in NBC in terms of an involvement in the murder.
