OP's father was never at the crime scene.
Other things there may not match the timeline either.

I've just spent some time trying to trace the video but with my bad connection and the huge volume of footage available, I can't find it however, I'm pretty certain his father was filmed arriving at the court stating through the window of his vehicle that " I have not yet seen or spoken to Oscar, and I have never met the lady" Reeva had not been formally identified at that stage.

snipped for space

Thank you Carol, for your breakdown of the article. So he's blaming his strange testimony on the fact that he didn't give it in Afrikaans? What do you think about that?

I don't know about the protective shoe covering excuse. He didn't think he needed it? Every crime scene has integrity that needs to be maintained. As a long-time police official, he knows better. I'm not buying it.
Yes I know re the Afrikaans. I must look for the transcripts because I vaguely recall he was asked is he would prefer Afrikaans and he said he was happy to continue in English. I think this was the following day when he was called back to the stand but can't be sure. Going to follow up ASAP on this when I can find links so don't take my word. Personally, I think it's a lame excuse!

Is this the same night he supposedly went out with Craig Lipschitz? What a vastly different interpretation of the events beween that article and this one:

http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2013/04/14/oscar-pistorius-parties-flirts-shops
It's been reported that this was the first time he had been out in public. I will add that it only mentions he was at the Buddah place, also mentioning various tweets about people seeing him there, no mention of anyone tweeting that he was drinking etc. Craig Lipschitz is not mentioned in the article so not sure at all.

Btw, doesn't sound like he was received warmly at the restaurant if people started elbowing him etc. lol, must have been pretty awkward! :p

Deleting reference to other outing until I can find it.

Nevermind for now Patti, Boston is a huge story. :(

I'm so sorry for all those effected by this..it must bring back terrible memories.
I sincerely hope no one I chat with here is effected nonetheless, my best lies with all the families of the injured and dead. Absolutely tragic!

I hope some pictures emerge of this night out. Especially some pics of this man who doesn't drink " doing shots". Uncle Arnold can not be pleased with this, nor Roux, both of whom said he doesn't drink.

a guy who doesn't drink would not have a shot glass collection in his home...

i believe OP has such a collection as seen in the pic of him sitting below the cabinet on the wall in his house... the shot glasses are lined up on the lowest shelf on the left hand side imo.

Yes, that is correct Carol, and was gone over here, and Henke not being at the crime scene (in his own words) was settled in thread 2 or 3.

His outing last weekend:
He was having dinner with 2 women, one of them his ex girlfriend Jenna Edkins,a witness told YOU, " he has a beard and his hair is dark. Everybody was looking at him and as he walked out, people started calling out to him and elbowing him. He was walking down the stairs and fell, someone grabbed him in time" AP confirmed OP was having dinner, was not behaving recklessly nor drunk.

I also read somewhere but for the life of me can't find the link that when OP entered the restaurant, the mood became sombre and didn't quite recover until OP left. I also can't believe no snaps have emerged of OP drinking, drunk, downing shooters or flirting with women. I will believe that when I see it. The man is not an idiot surely.

Your first paragraph is interesting. Now maybe OP fell because he was elbowed or such in a crowd.

But maybe OP's PR people are putting out this story because he was drunk and this is why he fell.
After all we know his balance is so good he can walk down stairs while carrying someone.

Recall the news24 letter to the editor I posted weeks ago.
It was from 2011 and is not a news item per se, but a letter to the editor that news24 printed. But it detailed--long before this side of OP was widely known--that OP (there with his buds) was drunk and it indicates he fell or flung himself into a woman who protested, and his answer to why he was behaving that way was to exclaim "because I am drunk."

Jenna Edkins BTW states that she has dated OP on and off for 5 years, (most seriously apprently in 2008) and that he has never mistreated her nor did she ever feel threatened by him. Of course this might indicate that she might be biased in describing events?

Here is her last tweet, made on Feb 15. She apparently stopped tweeting after that. Perhaps advised to? "I would just like to say , I have dated Oscar on off for 5 YEARS, NOT ONCE has he EVER lifted a finger to me , made me fear for my life.."
https://twitter.com/JennaEdkins
Among her few tweets is this: "Os [Oscar] is the loving , amazing inspirational person we know him to be.."

Here is her picture.

Carol:
Anything you can tell us about Jenna Edkins?
What does she do?

Pistorius cops' cellphones confiscated

http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Pistorius-cops-cellphones-confiscated-20130416

"Johannesburg - Police confiscated the cellphones of officers working on the Oscar Pistorius murder case when it came to light they had photographed him after his arrest, it was reported on Tuesday.

The Star reported that cellphones were confiscated from 45 police officials, according to a written response by Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa to a parliamentary question.

Boschkop police station management also seized four other official police phones.

The police ministry told the newspaper disciplinary steps were being taken against the culprits. The phones would be used as evidence..."

Article from March 7 that has probably been posted/quoted in previous threads, but bears repeating.

The South African athlete's spectacular fall from grace shocked many who were inspired by his remarkable story of overcoming adversity to become an Olympian and a national hero.

But not everyone.

"Here, I think, you had a troubled athlete," said South African sports journalist Graeme Joffe. "Not so much this incredible role model for the rest of the world -- no question about that -- but deep down, this was a troubled athlete."

South African radio and TV sports presenter Graeme Joffe has known Oscar for at least 10 years, since soon after his mother died. In the BBC television documentary 'Oscar Pistorius: What really happened' Joffe recalled those early years. ‘I met this incredible, humble kid who had the world at his feet…an amazing kid, the drive, the positiveness. I was in awe of him…It was the real Oscar. Then, sadly over the years, I think, as fame and success and money came into his life, I saw a very different Oscar.’
