This is seemingly a simple, verifiable fact if police and security showed up at OPs home 2 hours before the shooting. If true, then why didn't prosecution use it at the bail hearing?

Well I've alluded to several things before.
Perhaps wanting him out on bail, perhaps suckering in the DT to to reveal more.

But Brig. Denise Buekes did refer or allude to cops and/or security being there for "domestic" dispute or whatever she said. ANd that the cops were surprised to learn of the intruder claim, given that they were there shortly before the shooting.

A few posts above I was stating that maybe Pros should have objected to Roux in effect giving testimony, but he did not object.

A lot going on here beneath the surface. IMO

Anyone know if Martin Pistorius is related to Oscar??

http://www.ma-agency.com/authors/martin_pistorius

MP is from S.A, and has a remarkable tale. Book is called "Ghost Boy."

At 12,went into a coma-like state from a neurolgical disorder. Was in this state for 16 years. But he could hear and know what was happening around him--apparently suffering verbal and physical abuse form handlers occassionally.

Though still in a wheelchair, he got married to a lovely, pretty blonde--those Pistorius boys!--and is a web designer.

This short video of Mr. Martin Pistorius and wife Joanna, may get the saline flowing.

So is he related to Oscar?

<snipped>

BBM Agreed!

Carol70, do you think Beeld is a reliable resource? TIA
Relatively yes however, Beeld are the only news source that ran with it (all other media are quoting from Beeld) and the story came out on the 15th Feb and has NOT been confirmed by any police source! I would hesitate to take any story that came out before bail as fact as there was a ton of speculation/false stories doing the rounds.

The Alleged Killing of Reeva and the Cult of Celebrity Sports

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tony-mckenna/the-killing-of-reeva-and-_b_3090269.html

"But there is also a broader dynamic at work here. The culture of the celebrity sportsperson has in the last few decades grown unhealthy, even perverse. We are talking about young men who find themselves propelled into the limelight; who are given almost limitless press and adulation and raised to the status of gladiators enacting out life and death tussles in the Roman coliseum. But they are not gladiators. They are often immature, inexperienced and ill-equipped -- overwhelmed by the vortex of prestige and wealth they are so suddenly pulled into. This unqualified, almost hysterical admiration can produce a gross sense of entitlement equalled only, perhaps, by the rage the celebrity evinces when their needs are not met. "

bbm and BRAVO!

Trying to keep up with the case.

You magazine has another interview this week...it's very long(8 pages) and I'm so busy at the moment, I doubt I will have time to give a run down. If anyone wants to do it, Plse pop me a PM and I will scan and mail. Interview with a neighbour..interestingly, he heard ' what sounded like 3 thunderclaps' ..so sounds like he heard 3 gunshots. It's a very pro OP story...a few unseen pics...last private pic with OP and Reeva, they looked pretty happy and some texts OP has sent since his release.

RE Medical Patch And Attorney Roux' statement about OP wearing it etc and seemingly giving testimony--not under oath--on OP's behalf
I finally got a reply via PM from an attorney here, gitana1 who said:

"it's not trial and at certain hearings, what's called offers of proof may be made. It's not testimony. He's stating a fact not in evidence but he's doing so as an offer of future proof, so to speak."

One thing about the alleged patch, I can't see how wearing that determines which side of the bed one would sleep on. Appears to be another smokescreen or diversion. And of course, his shoulder could not have ben bad if he carried her down the stairs. One person I knew only wore that when his shoulder pain was so bad he could not raise his arm anymore. And I recall he did not say anything about it forced him to sleep on one side of the bed or the other.
so...

Suppose you have a bad right shoulder and you want to face your bed partner to talk and ... whatever. Do you want to be on the right side of the bed, or on the left? I'd say the left.

I think a guy built like OP could carry Reeva - easily - even with intense pain from the shoulder, given the circumstances: Life and death, blood everywhere, his world crumbling before his eyes, adrenaline running, etc.

PS: My own guess is it was a minor strain/injury to the shoulder (or nothing, if he's lying), i.e. no big thing. Even so, a request to change sides of the bed seems well within the bounds of reasonable behavior.

BBM1: One can hear another person right near them in bed regardless of which side each is on.

BBM2; If the shoulder injury and/or pain is bad, the muscle mass of the person is irrelevant. All that mass is useless if the joint is kaput at the moment.

BBM3: The whole point of this is where the holster and Reeva's bag were, indicating she was in fact on the left where he would have seen she was not there when he got his gun.

So something was needed to try to claim she was on the other side. And I repeat there is no valid reason why the shoulder patch, etc. made one side preferable to the other. Her bag, and I think her iPad all on the left side--where the gun holster was found.

And I'll go you one better.
Assume Reeva slept on the right side.

Oscar allegedly comes into the bedroom carrying the fan. Does anyone allege he is walking backwards?

Well then with the balcony door open, and some crescent moon, and/or reflection of his house's security lights, there would be some light at that moment in the room--else he would have fallen etc.

So he would have seen that Reeva was not right there at that moment.

Either way it's a fiction. Left side, right side, doesn't matter.

Claiming to be in constant fear of assault or robbery or murder and keeping the bathroom window open, and screaming to possibly armed intruders lying in wait. "I am coming in after you now."

If the average joe presented that alibi/affidavit in court, any judge would have laughed and torn it up.

And I think Mag. Nair hinted at what he thought of the affidavit when he gave bail conditiors harsher than what the 2 sides had agreed upon.

Of course, Appeals judge ended all that. A taste of things to come?

Magistrate takes entire court in Carl Pistorius' homicide trial on the road to visit crash site

THE magistrate in Carl Pistorius' culpable homicide trial took the entire court to a rural road to measure distances and check evidence.

Earlier, in his blue suit and open-necked white shirt, Carl Pistorius sat in the dock looking at his cellphone and a tablet device for much of the morning's proceedings, but did confer with his legal team at one point during Mr Raphadu's testimony and also smiled and shook his head in apparent disagreement with the policeman's evidence.
