Above BBM - I see Sharon Rocha often, at a very public place near my home with lots of folks around. Nobody bothers her or snaps cell phone pics or calls security. Everyone around gives her the respect she deserves. Big difference!

Sharon Rocha and Cindy Anthony are worlds apart in character.

Never once did you hear Sharon Rocha screeching demands laced with profanity at the public, lying to LE or trying to deceive them by switching hairbrushes and wishing she had given them the dog's toothbrush.

Sharon thanked the people continuously that searched for Laci and was grateful & gracious to those who cared to find her missing loved one.

Sharon Rocha is a classy lady and the world embraced her for it. Yes, "big difference" indeed.

I think it's likely that the A's called security and/or the media in this case to look like victims. But if they really are harassed everywhere they go, I think it's fair. I don't agree with violence or law-breaking, but making them uncomfortable in a way that is legal is ok with me. Shunning would be best. There used to be such a thing as shame that would deter bad behavior. We could use more of that in our society. And if I were the store owner, I would not want want them in there. They are known to have no respect for the law or morals and to be grifters who commit fraud. I would not want to serve them and I would not want them touching my merchandise. I might follow them closely to make them uncomfortable so they'd leave. I'm not sure if I'd do more than that unless they caused a problem. But I'd WANT to do more, that's for sure.

Their new life is all about road trips, shopping, cruises and jetting off to prepaid tropical destinations, since they are too disabled to work. Sucking off the teat of Florida taxpayers and private benefactors. Again, how do I sign up?

Could someone please show me their proof that Cindy Anthony is on SSI?

I believe it was taken on a cell phone which is often very hard to detect because there is no flash. I think the cameras are banded because security has a problem with the flashes and their security cameras. I guess cell phones don't cause that much of a problem. It's not that they don't want you taking pictures of others, they just have a problem with the cameras. jmo

It's all photographs. Not just with cameras.

FWIW, when I was "busted" at Macy's I was using my cell to take the photos.

Lets get this straight: unless owned by the gov't, a mall is a private place opened to the public and they do tend to have "no photography" rules. I know this first hand because I was told to stop taking pictures in a mall or I would be booted.

Really? I was in our local mall the other day with some friend's who were staying/visiting with me.. They'd gone different directions to shop and I opted to sit at a table in the food court until they returned.. I took several photos there because of the way the light was coming in through the skylights above.. Security officers walked past me twice and I'm sure that one of them saw what I was doing. Nothing was said.. ?? Why would photos be prohibited in a mall??

Here's one of the photos I took that day at the mall:

During a hearing Cindy said she was on disability and had not worked since Caylee was reported missing.
IIRC a WSer who works for Gentiva said they would pay up to two years of disability as part of their employment benefits.

I seriously doubt Cindy could be getting SSI. It's not easy to get and there's usually a 2 yr battle to get it ,even if you obviously qualify. That's why there's so many law firms dedicated to "helping".

If one is seen out in public ,their pics can be taken. A mall is owned privately, but it's a public gathering place. There's no expectation of privacy in a mall.Period.

There are some stores that have a policy of not allowing photos of their merchandise, but there is no law against it if it's seen publicly.

Macy's policy is no photos period.
It does not say no photos of merchandise. It just says no photography in the store.

Unless it's posted I'm not sure they could have done anything much about it. Casino's post no camera signs. Unless someone complained that they did not like their picture taken not sure why that happend. Macy's may feel it is a security problem but someone taking pictures on a cell phone usually go unnoticed unless they are being obvious about it.

But unless there is a sign posted for no camera's there really isn't much legally anyone can do about it. jmo

He used to live in Myrtle Beach, NC. - Maybe he still does?
Maybe they are just on the way to Ohio?:waitasec:

Myrtle Beach is in S.C., not N.C. I have a sister-in-law who lives there.

Looking around today, this is much more common than I thought. Many stores have strict no-photo policies and those policies are enforced.

A few I ran across while looking for information...
Apple Store
Macy
Starbucks
Barnes and Noble
Whole Foods
Sears

There were a lot more. Those are just some examples.

I'm not arguing the legalities of it.

Just pointing out that it's a common policy.

Macy's policy is no photos period.
It does not say no photos of merchandise. It just says no photography in the store.

Policy is usually either a reaction to prior abuse/incident/lawsuit or to set some reasonable rules/standards in place.

Obviously Macy's does NOT want competitors either photographing their layout or prices or, a commercial photo shoot or video.

I should imagine a quick candid casual public photo would not be any issue at all but taking a few shots or a group of photographers is going to attract someone to enforce the policy.

Rather than Macy's or the Mall go into details of complex rules they simply state 'no photography' period.

I guess Cindy and George didn't want the media attention during this little outing, otherwise I am sure they would have had Lippman make the round of calls to the local media to alert them of the Anthony's trip. For those that think that Cindy and George would not/have not done that a trip down memory lane would let us know that they do in fact do this. When they went on a trip, thanks to a wealthy business man, with the man's family Lippman alerted the media that the trip was taking place. When the car was taken to the scrap yard and crushed, the media was alerted so that at least one reporter was there to report on it. When Cindy was going to donate shoes in "Caylee's name" she alerted the media herself.

Cindy loves the attention, as long as it is the attention that she is wanting at that time. She wants her privacy when she wants it but expects the public to want to know what she is doing when it suits her. Unfortunately she can not have it both ways. She put herself in this position and now she has to deal with it or go quietly away from the spotlight. The choice is hers but based on the upcoming Dr Phil show I would say that she has chosen to stay in the spotlight for as long as the public is interested.

According to Fox Charlotte, George and Cindy were shopping at Belk in the Signal Hill Mall in Statesville, NC. Statesville is a small city about a half hour's drive north of Charlotte.

When you see the video, there's no doubt that it is them. People who spotted them alerted mall security.

The big question is - Why are they in NC?

Why would security have to be alerted?

Ok.

Still does not negate the fact that if Belk has a no-photo policy (like MANY other department stores have) the person who took the video was in violation of the policy.

Perhaps security should have been called because that person was in the store instead of the Anthony's who were not, as far as I can tell, violating any policies.

Happened to me too in a Macy's in Baton Rouge.
They had lifesize Justin Bieber displays to promote his new fragrance.
My DD HAD to go and get a few pics with "her man".

I had taken a couple and a lady kindly told me that you can not take photos in Macy's. I had no clue.
But, to my shock, as we were leaving, I saw the sign on the door "no photography allowed in this store". I never have noticed those signs before.

I'm sure they have their reasons. But I would have never thought that was a rule in stores in the mall.

ETA: oh well! We got what we went for. Lol

It became a matter of security following 9/11/01. cameras can 'see' infra red rays from store cameras and pinpoint blind spots, staff pics or unattended dressing rooms etc are fodder for radicals who wish to cause harm to the masses.

It's left up to the mall... like I said, my own experience brought to my attention that malls can enforce a no photo policy if they wish, because they are a private business opened to the public, not a public place. Some malls will enforce it... some malls don't care.

Hopefully this will be the LAST big interview that is offered to Cindy and George. The only thing they will have after this mess with Dr Phil will be publicity for their "foundation"... Hopefully no other big name media folks will "contribute" to their paycheck scheme. I really don't care where the Anthonys go.. Where I wish they'd go is another thing and since I'm trying to use polite language, I can't say where.. I keep hoping they'll sink into obscurity.. Soon.

Wow! Who knew?
This world has changed so much since that horrible day 10 years ago.
