Dear Websleuths Members,

This thread will open the start of court on Tuesday July 9th

We are going to try opening one thread for the trial of George Zimmerman.

Discussions became so heated and hateful that we closed the whole Martin/Zimmerman discussion until the trial started.

If things get out of hand again we will close this thread.

Just because someone might think George Zimmerman is innocent does not make them a racist.

Just because someone thinks Trayvon Martin was killed in cold blood does not make them a racist.

I am gathering this is the prosecutions rebuttal to that hearing? Something they don't like that came out last night??

Now that you mention it - yes, he does look a bit lighter. I bet he's not sleeping well or feeling much of an appetite since the commencement of the trial. He always looks sleepy to me.

I would say it looks like he may have dropped about 25 lbs... His neck looks much smaller to me..

I think he is under such stress that he is like you said, Most likely not sleeping well and possibly on meds.

There is nothing good about this case. His life is touched and ruined no matter what. TM is dead.

It is just a horrible tragedy.. OMO

Yes - Mr. O'Mara has just now told the judge that the animation has been replaced with a series of stills.

For a recap, MOM said that the ME from the state said the range of the shot was .4 mm to 4 ft away...

This man, I am not sure of his title, I missed it.. Says he thinks it is 2-4 inches away.

That makes sense along with the evidence so far to me... OMO

Good morning all!

I was very active during the CA trial but have been quiet since then. I've been watching the GZ trial from the beginning so I've decided to jump back into this wonderful forum. Bear with me, I'm a little rusty

After reading and listening to yesterdays events from last night, I find it very hard to see how the state is going to get their conviction. This case, more than any other case I can remember, is so ripe with reasonable doubt that one wonders how it's even at trial. Here are some examples:

Screaming on the 911 call - I'm not sure there is anyone that can definitively say who that is on the call. Everyone has their theory, but nothing conclusive. And if your not conclusive that it was TM, that's reasonable doubt (benefits the defense)

Who the aggressor was - At this point there is no conclusive evidence that I've seen that shows definitively who started the fight or even how the fight got started. We have testimony from one person (RJ) who may or may not be believable. That's reasonable doubt (benefits the defense).

IMO, in order to convict, you have to believe every single word of what RJ said and then ignore evidence to the contrary (grass stains on GZ back, injuries, etc).

About GZ's weight. I thought that yesterday but by the end of the day he looked big again. Odd that you would mention that this morning as I was going to see if the same thing happens today

IMO, this is an unpopular belief but I am of a few who honestly believe there are two separate and distinct voices yelling and then crying out for help. The last few we hear, at the very end, IMO is TM.

Beyond that, I have a theory on why GZ would call for help but my opininion is unfavorable to the defendant. So, I will leave it at that.
