Germany, 13 yo girl, Mechernich, 1 July 2024

She told her parents she was going to school Monday morning, 1st July 2024, although school was closed for students that day due to teacher conference on end of year marks/report cards. She didn't arrive back home at 14:30 that day. Police don't seem to have been notified till 2nd July 2024.

She is said to speak "broken German" so MOO she may not have known there was no school. She doesn't have a phone with her and she doesn't know her way around the area very well.

Haven't found an article with her name in it yet, but there are photos.

Description of girl:
Hair colour: Dark
Eye colour: Dark
Build: Slim
Height: 158 cm
Clothing: Blue jeans, white t-shirt, white gym shoes/trainers/runners
Additional: Bandage on left hand, long dark hair, grey bag

A fellow school student reported seeing her in zalando (shoes and clothing) shop in Cologne on Monday.


Mechernich is a town in the Eifel region of Germany, Land North Rhine Westphalia, nearest big city, Cologne.

Update evening Wed 3rd July:
School searched again by Police, after search dogs alerted, but no success.
Her around 6km route to school was searched both sides of the road, but no success.
No decision yet on whether the search will be continued on Thursday

Ein Mädchen fährt in der Eifel mit dem Bus zur Schule - doch die ist gar nicht geöffnet. Seit Montag ist die 13-Jährige verschwunden.

she's so cute
she speaks broken German, doesn't have a phone and doesn't know her way around
this is very worrisome and if notification to LE was delayed, even worse

can't imagine why the search would not continue after only one day, esp. if the search dogs indicated

They don't actually say they will end but that it hasn't been decided yet either way. Presumably they were asked (by the press or somebody) and are not willing to commit either way. For whatever reason. Not necessarily a nefarious or suspicious reason MOO.

They were searching on Tuesday too btw. But it does seem a bit early to not definitely be continuing the search MOO.

They're still asking for witnesses, see press articles linked in my previous posts on thread.
