That picture is supposed to be a man with his parents? Because they do not look like his parents, in my opinion. They look nothing alike.

heidi (and schiller family),

i am so very sorry for your loss and what you've endured in these last 30+ years. i just read about your case here on WS after i saw you post in the lisa irwin forum and i believe i will go to bed crying over what you have been through. you are doing EVERYTHING to find your child and your persistence and dedication is awe-inspiring. i truly truly hope that you find your beloved dirk or get the answers you are seeking in the very near future.

(((hugs from canada)))

on your behalf, i sent messages on facebook to various media outlets, tv shows, journalists and advocates for missing children. i pray one of them contacts you and is able to help. the list includes:

Nancy Grace (HLN)
Anderson Cooper (AC 360 on CNN and the daytime talk show "Anderson")
Brian Williams (Anchor @ NBC nightly news)
20/20 (ABC investigative reporting program)
Dateline (NBC investigative reporting program)
Marc Klaas (father of abducted and murdered Polly Klaas and missing children's advocate/specialist)

My goodness! I just read all of this and want to say to Heidi, my thoughts and prayers are sure with you. I can't imagine how you feel.

I´d like to have an age progression photograph of my missing son,
but police won´t do it, anyone would do it in my country,
how can I get help from other country to do it?
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks!

Ps.: I do love the age progressions photographs from missing and exploited children, they look like real photos

Heidi,

In light of the strong possibility that LE will find Etan Patz in the next few days, don't ever give up hope. Etan has also been missing for 33 years and although the cases are obviously different and we believe that Dirk is alive, never give up hope. I know you won't...you are an inspiration.

yes, I´m happy to hear something is going on with Etan´s case, but its too bad they are searching now after 33 years, don´t worry I won´t never give up

Thanks in advance!!

Heidi, I called them (NCMEC), and unfortunately, they cannot do age progression photos without opening a case for him.

I asked "can a German parent whose child disappeared in Germany open a case?" and they said "no". :(

They had started out by saying that the parent would have to go thru the LE agency investigating (to open a case), but after I asked for clarification, they said the parent or LE agency can.

I'm so sorry...

That is not good news...:(

Cazzie, thank you for calling to find out. I'm also disappointed in their decision. :tears:
