This is my personal belief only, but I really doubt CPS want anything to do with trying CB for anything. Out of jurisdiction, no body case with a foreign national. It makes much more sense for Germany to assert jurisdiction as they have done. CPS would run a mile from it.
Mot sure if it's out if jurisdiction...a trial in UK might be something worth looking at after the shambles in Germany..

I wonder whether the prosecutors will now rush blindly ahead into an appeal, or take time to reflect of how and why they failed ?

Hes a fantastic lawyer there is no doubt about that. It was also obvious to many of us that there was not the evidence to prove the charges :(

Respectfully disagree regarding at least one charge. I hope all of the victims find their way to healing and knowing they have incredible strength to have pursued their justice.

Presumably there isn’t a bottomless pit of money to finance these cases. Therefore, they will surely have to justify further action to the people who pay the bills. How can they do that after this trial?

If CB wasn’t responsible, justice has been served… even if you don’t like the acquitted suspect.

The victims pursuit of justice is a different subject to wether or not FF is a good lawyer - he clearly is very good.

I wonder if it was procedural, if you mean the alleged masturbating or weeing in the park, reports say CB was arrested on the spot because there was a EAW in place, when were the children interviewed and was it a specialist interviewer, what we have learnt is that the German system does not video record the interviews.

The off duty police woman would not have known about a EAW at that time.
I think CB was arrested primarily to keep him out of hands of irate fathers.

On this occasion he was fantastically aided and abetted by a compliant judge.
My opinion

But what sort of interview took place if at all.

Is the custodial sentence he's serving now, called in to question, FF said yesterday they're appealing it, today's judgement must call into question the witness statements by HeB.

The prosecution have had prewarning that this would be a probability so one knows they will be rushing into anything and whatever their reaction it will be well thought out and balanced.

Extraordinarily, the arrest of a paedophile by an off duty police officer from a children's playground even with his trousers and pants round his ankles was fine by this chamber.
That is not incompetence on behalf of the prosecution who did their job by bringing the indictment to court. That represents some enormous breakdown in the system.

I don't know if German law allows precedent but this judgement would certainly open the door to like offences in German playgrounds. In fact - there is no offence according to the Braunschweig court.

Or the prosecution argument was not sufficient. In the case of HaB, FF acknowledged she suffered an horrendous attack but with no forensics and no positive redeeming feature such as the mark which CB does not have, how safe would a conviction have been.CB if he had or has piercing blue eyes is surely not alone.

It was pretty obvious there was issues with the investigation/witnesses/evidence
The British reporter in the BZ article certainly highlighted it.
