I don't know. I think it is on the main floor of the house, not the basement, and installed rather low through the wall. My guess is that those windows behind the garage are to a dining room or a master bedroom. If it's a dining room, the kitchen and all the bedrooms have to be tiny. The pile of pillows that represented Victoria's room was indeed a tiny room.. my guess is the front door leads to the living room. Directly left of the living room as you walk into the front door is the wall to the garage. (In old Christmas pic, no windows on fireplace wall.) I think it you walk straight back, you reach the kitchen and the back door.

I think to the right of the living room are 2 or three bedrooms. Behind the garage, and to the left of the kitchen as you walk in the front is either a dining room ( the windows look like formal room windows) or a master bedroom (the house doesn't have the square footage for a dining room.)

I think John Ray said the house only has one bathroom. I've seen houses that size with one bathroom in the hall and a 3/4 bathroom with the master bedroom. I don't know.

I should have looked for the plumbing vent. That would be a clue.

I bet this 50's era house have laundry on the basement, likely under the kitchen. But that is something I've never seen pictured in this house. A washer and dryer.

I assumed the small window seen in front of the home that is higher than normal was a bathroom window. To give light into the room without giving up privacy?

Just finished reading alllll the threads on this and am just astounded at the cruelty of killers. I just hope that LE continues looking at cold cases to see if he was involved. With finding Sandra from so long ago it makes me believe that he has killed many times over the years. I hope by catching him not only does it stop future murders, but gives answers and closure to so many families. There are so many people out there that just want to know what happened to their loved ones.

Many older Long Island “ranch” houses have those high, horizontal windows in the bedrooms and a bigger window in the living room. Many homes updated the windows over time for better insulation/repairs but still within the high on the wall position. Still more ranches, like in RH neighborhood, knocked down and/or rebuilt with second floor.

Air con in window would also be at that high position, or punched thru a wall.

No idea what the design reason - privacy? Modern look?

Could be. But it could be a bedroom. Tthere are small windows like that in some mid century ranches to save wall space. In a tiny room, there would not be space along the walls for a bed, dresser and desk, or whatever furnishings would be needed, with a window consuming space. There also has to be room for two doors, one out of the room and one to the closet. This solution is not used often anymore; it is not to code in some municipalities if a person sleeps in the room. I thought the smaller double-hung window in the back could be a bathroom window.

My relative lived in a similar-sized and shaped ranch from the same era on Long Island. There were three bedrooms in that house all along the back of the house. The two children's rooms had windows like that, one each facing the back yard, and the bigger (small) children's room had a second high window like that facing the side of the house.

There were no doors going out to the back yard except the basement door. The front half of the house was left to right, garage, living room, kitchen. There was a side door from the kitchen. The stairs to the basement went from the living room and down behind the kitchen.

Do you think this is the daughter’s room or a storage room?
It could be a storage room. Hard to tell. Every room looks like a storage room after LE went through it. Could be the son’s room too.. I just saw things like a fairy decoration in the back, backpack, plush, pink slide shoes, anime pillow, Doritos looking blanket and I assumed. But I also assumed that the vent in that room was about 2-3 ft from the floor, JUST LIKE the outdoor ac unit that was being talked about. But, I think my brain is having one of its off-days.
On a different subject, I googled RH’s “1182” phone number. And results looked normal..his name, wife’s name, daughter’s name, brother’s name, until half way down the page, I saw an escort advertisement! When I clicked it, his phone number is no where on there, so why did that pop up when googling his number??
When I googled her incall address, it happened to be a few miles away from Chenango Forks, where his mom lived. Coincidence?

Not likely, but maybe worth a think:

Unidentified Person- UP8672. Maybe RH using this number (flaunting to no one) as a nod to a memory/accomplishment.

The left pelvic bone of an adult male was retrieved by a dog in Jan 1997, in a town about 3 hours south of the S Carolina address listed for RH.

Photo of home, rearview, in this article.

Two vents and a chimney... bathroom/kitchen?

Possible dryer vent low to the ground. Maybe Two?

Would laundry be in the basement if it's only accessible from the outside?

Was the basement exclusively RH's? I've heard about people like that. No one free to question or challenge him.

Good eyes!

I doubt the basement is only accessible from outside. Most houses there have full size usable basements that can be accessed from inside. They are not all finished- they were sold unfinished but such that laundry and workshop type work could be done.

It does appear that the plumbing action is all in the back/back right of the house as you walk in the front door.

The co-worker designer who went to RHs to measure his house talks about the basement and his locked room.
It says "when she went downstairs he followed her" which indicates a staircase in the house to the basement.
I think if she had to enter the basement from the outside she would have mentioned that in the interview because she was freaking about him being arrested as the accused serial killer and his locked room?

''A Queens pizzeria is raising eyebrows with “tasteless” T-shirts of accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann — harping on the fact that he was famously nabbed through DNA on pizza crust.

“The Pizza is Amazing,” the shirts printed by Pizza on the Point in Breezy Point read. “But make sure you finish the crust — Rex Heuermann, Gilgo Pizza Connoisseur.”

The pizza joint’s owners say it’s just a slice of Big Apple humor — but it’s a bit too saucy for some.''
