Victoria recently updated on her FB about the status of the woman in this photo.. apparently she contacted Victoria after her book was released.
"
I just received a wonderful message from a lovely woman who was in the Alcala photos and one that I originally felt was no longer with us. Why did I feel this way? Because the photo showed a beautiful young woman in a remote location. One of the photos showed them (her and Alcala) together in a photo. She told me that he took her to this remote area and was taking photos of her when a group of hikers came through. She said that she was very uncomfortable during the session. She apparently left with the hikers that day. I have no doubt that they saved her life! I was so grateful to hear from her because she was in my top 5 that I felt were definite victims. She is a grandmother today. She was definitely blessed that day and gave me permission to let the group know."
