That, and when the judge asked him if it was acceptable to waive sequesteration- he had some smart aleck comment like “as acceptable as it can be”...I wonder if he’ll speak this week to save his skin. I wonder if his girls will. Ugh.
He will speak for sure. He’s way too much of a narcissist not to. And he’ll be crying as well. IMO

I'm semi new to this case...remember when it happened but was appalled and dealing with other life circumstances....reading the doc drops is so depressing...would like to see more info on her first husband and why that marriage dissolved...I have a clue but dayum...teresa had it going on...

Is that what he said? I clipped it to see if I could work it out but gave up in the end.

Just listened again and I think you're right, it definitely starts with "as acceptable".

What bothers me is... at least on CTV... the victim impact statements are very limited and they can only talk about Theresa and their loss. MANY i've seen they have been able to directly address the defendant, but CTV is saying they are not allowed. Which means Mark will get the last word. I don't think i like that.
Characterizations and opinions about the crime, the defendant, and the appropriate sentence shall not be permitted as a part of victim impact evidence.

Chapter 921 Section 141 - 2019 Florida Statutes
2019 Florida Statutes
921.141 Sentence of death or life imprisonment for capital felonies; further proceedings to determine sentence.—
(8) VICTIM IMPACT EVIDENCE.—Once the prosecution has provided evidence of the existence of one or more aggravating factors as described in subsection (6), the prosecution may introduce, and subsequently argue, victim impact evidence to the jury. Such evidence shall be designed to demonstrate the victim’s uniqueness as an individual human being and the resultant loss to the community’s members by the victim’s death. Characterizations and opinions about the crime, the defendant, and the appropriate sentence shall not be permitted as a part of victim impact evidence.

And nobody has yet to establish as to WHY the girls were in danger. I think that twisted and narcissistic Mark meant to say that HE was in danger of losing the girls, due to the impending divorce, which most likely would have led to the discovery of his Medicare fraud and other crimes.

I'm in no position to 'establish' exactly why MS said that to CWW so this is pure speculation on my part.

A lot of us agree that MS was very manipulative and I'm sure he would have been telling CWW what a bad person Teresa was. CCW isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and I have a feeling that this could have been an example of MS's way to manipulate CWW in justifying Teresa's death (besides a financial payout). MS may have thought that it would help get CWW riled up and feeling he should do this for his old buddy should MS lose control of the girls after a divorce. Just my guess.

That whole dialogue was so weird. The judge asked a simple yes/no question IIRC. Mark had just been waiting to throw some "witty" remark in. Like this was all a really funny joke. He distorted his face in such a ridiculous way right afterwards... I think he was slightly embarrassed that no one joked back with him or replied in any way, but he still thought he was being pretty cute. Yuck. Dude, you are such an idiot.

I'm not crazy about Mummert, but he had to have been rolling his eyes and shaking his head over this doofus.

I can really only make out the “as acceptable” part. I imagine it was something like - as acceptable as can be, given the circumstances, or something along those lines.

I'm about 70/30 if I even believe that at all. I think it's entirely possible there are reasons we don't even know about (i.e. TS finding out about MS and CWW illegal activity) that could have led to them both being equally willing for her to die. CWW just had a lot of time to think up his story that he thought would be believable and point the figure mostly to MS. Bottom line, he did the murder. Why....we will never know.

I think he probably crashed hard. I keep thinking about his joking with Judge Kyle about just wanting to go home, like he and the judge had some kind of inside joke that this trial was a bunch of BS or something.

He truly thought he was going home. No kidding. He REALLY believed that.

Actually, that was one of the most telling moments of the trial for me. A little peek inside his warped psyche.

Good luck with that-- finding some thing nice to say about Mark and his redeeming qualities. This is a man that supposedly approached his best friend on that friend's wedding day to ask him to kill. Set up his mother to have involvement unknowingly, and also to host one of the killers in her home. Had his daughters swimming in the pool with their mother's killer-- CWW was probably laughing and joking with the girls. Used Teresa's family to be his alibi waving her plane off and had his daughters praying while their mother went off to her death all planned by him.

There's bad men who do bad things, he told the girls.

I expect to see that trembling chin again. Honestly, I loved that part of the verdict scene. After all his fake faces, that trembling chin was authentic fear for himself and, sorry but, delightful to see. When I think about all he has done I find it hard to cut him any slack. DP or LWOP will be okay with me, but he deserves for the earth to open up and take him down right then and there.

MOO

I totally agree with this. I can't see him keeping his mouth shut.
I agree, he can't keep his mouth shut especially when talking about himself:
"I just want to go home" (giggle, giggle)

There are no words here that I'm allowed to say of what I think of him, however, it's something like this:
M○+|¤} F€~₩¤◇\!!!

When Mark said "I just want to go home" I think he forgot he no longer had a home. Foreclosed and sold.

Here's what I just heard tuning into Court TV.
Three Defense Witnesses on some list per CTV Julia:
1) Mark's Stepmother - Jenny
2) Lee Underwood - often an expert on sexual abuse past history
3) I didn't hear her say a third!

I wish I could hear it again. Who is the third witness?
Is Mark's going to say he was sexually abused as a child?

I think CTV is saying Thursday afternoon JRR might get sentenced.
Did anyone else see this segment on Court TV?

Is everyone asleep already? Different time zone here, but tomorrow morning will be hard on me. Three Defense Witnesses for Mark? See my above post. I'm so curious!

Well, I'm answering one of my own questions with this news article about JRR being sentenced this week.

Sievers and Rodgers sentencings happening this week

One of Sievers' conspirators, Jimmy Rodgers, will also be sentenced this week.

also

For Sievers to be sentenced to death, all 12 jurors have to unanimously agree.

3rd witness in the list is Jeffrey Giordano, investigator/mitigation specialist.
