That link doesn't work for me.
Am I the only one who thinks it strange Misty didn't know exactly what they were wearing? Even if she wasn't there when they left, Wylma was, and surely the discussed it when they were performing their own original drive around search?
Have you seen two little cyclists wearing...um...were not sure....
Nope the whole family should've been able to list off what they had on, IMO.
I would think that someone in the family should have been able to give some sort of description - but not sure Misty would be the one. She took her in her pajamas to Grandmas and may not have known what she wore once she got there. Wylma or Heather I would have thought for sure, (possibly even Drew) since they were there as well that morning when Wylma came over to watch the kids while Heather went to her appt and Drew went to work. Wylma was the last to see them, so she may have been able to give the best description.
However, I will be the first to admit that I've thought about that situation more than once when it comes to my own kids and know I could easily be in their shoes of not knowing what my kids wear daily.
I leave for work at 5:45 in the morning - my kids aren't even out of bed yet. DH leaves at 6:15 and he literally wakes my kids up on his way out the door so they can get up, get ready for school, and catch the bus.
NEITHER of us know what they wear on their way out the door. And it terrifies me to even think about it - (should something happen to one of them) that I wouldn't be able to give a description of what either one had on.
I would easily be able to tell you which shoes they wore - only because my kids don't have a ton of shoes - and mayyyybe could figure it out with my son (14) since he seems to wear the same things.
But my 12 year old daughter? No way. She and her friends exchange clothing to borrow and wear all the time. I see clothes come through my laundry I know I've never purchased, and when asked I get "mom...so and so and I traded shirts".
I love that they do this - it's cheaper than me buying new stuff - BUT, I couldn't begin to tell you what she wore to the end of our driveway to catch the bus on a daily basis.
In the summer it would be no different. They don't get out of bed until late morning and DH and I are long gone for work before their sleepy heads are out of bed.
And only until these girls went missing did it ever occur to me that I could easily be in the exact same situation.
The big difference here is that there WERE multiple adults around and no one apparently noticed what they had on. I do find that a bit strange.
