Well, I hope you are right. I kind of see this latest move to get the recordings as grasping at straws.

I think they were looking for something specific.

The entire family has been very open all along with the media, but they've only requested one particular item regarding one particular person, from one particular source.

:moo:

This is the interview that LE wants, I am sure there is a "unedited" version. http://www.kwwl.com/global/video/fl...g=Search Results&activePane=info&rnd=51186848

I watched it and at the 3:14 mark misty's eyes get shifty to me. She is talking about the search at cedar valley? idk jmo

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I have been out most of the day and was catching up. Before I forget, I wanted to say it looks to me like Misty has a big black eye in this video. Could LE have wanted to document physical assault possibly by her estranged husband, who it sounds like she was in the motel with, and had been under court order to stay apart, except when talking to police or doing an interview? JMO. May be way off on this. Could be a shadow making it appear like she has a black eye. Again...sorry if this has been discussed previously.

Hi, Im new here, finally got registered. I live in central Iowa about an hour away from Evansdale and have been keeping up on this case since the beginning. Yesterday my husband and I went to Evansdale and I wanted to see for myself the area and I have my own theories. I first found Lyrics grandmas house where the bike ride started and followed it to River forest drive which is like 1000 ft up and turned right, went down Lafayette st, and turned to go down a street to the back of the Big and Tall store and auction house where they were seen on camera. Saw the camera myself, then I went pass Caseys general store and down Lafayette street heading east to a nature tral thats also a bike trail that takes you directly to the spot where the bikes were found at the lake. So they easily could have been on their way to the lake, easily in no time as fast as they were riding. My theory is they met the perp for a boat ride, where the bikes were found is at the east end of the lake along a very closed in tree lined area. I feel it was someone who lives on that small lake. There is a small boat ramp where the bikes where found. I feel he said, "just leave your purse, we will be back". Also I stood at the entrance to the Lake and I was amazed how small and compact the area is. And I might add so very very sad.

Sorry, I'm confused. I thought the bike ride started from HC/DC house or did Grandmother drive to HC home and did Lyric ride her bike there.

Didn't the girls depart on their bikes from EC home.

Clarification needed TIA.

The KWWL news should be coming on in a few minutes. Hopefully, some locals can watch and let us know if they report anything about the people who were on vacation and came home to find their paddleboat had been used while they were gone.

Going back to what someone said about all the abductions now in Iowa, a teenager in Ames was sexually assaulted by some men in the woods yesterday. I was sitting outside sunbathing a few days ago ( I live outside of a small town) and heard a vehicle pull up in the field next to me, thinking that it was just the farmer who owns that land checking his crops, I didn't look over my shoulder. But after awhile I got this wierd feeling and peered over my should and this strange man standing outside his white truck was watching me. Freaked me out so I went in my house and looked out the window and he still just stood there and then got in his truck and left.

Get the license and call 911 !

Geez! I never thought I'd feel so safe living right smack in the center of Los Angeles! I wouldn't even want to drive through Iowa at this point! :-)

I'm here in NY and I feel safer than Iowa! :what:

Did they put DM under pre trial supervision because they thought he was a flight risk? Tomorrow is his pre trial conference I believe.

Does anyone have an article about Dan's arrest in December? Who else was involved besides JS?

Hi All,

This is my first post, though I've been following along since the beginning on this one. I'm a lifelong resident of the Cedar Valley, and like many of my neighbors, have been shaken by this story. Every day I awake hoping desperately for good news - like all of you, I am certain.

Just a quick note regarding timeline. The manager of the auction house (where the surveillance video of the girls biking was captured) was quoted in the W/CF Courier stating that the time stamp on his camera is 8 minutes off the time his cell phone displays. Meaning, the "12:11" time stamp on his camera is actually "12:19" according to his cell phone.

Obviously, this adds further confusion to the already jumbled timeline of events on 7/13 - specifically, TG stating that he had seen what is presumed to be the girls' bikes at 12:20 (closer to the lake? IIRC. no link to confirm).

When I first watched it I noticed her eyes and thought maybe they looked like that from crying or lack of sleep. It does look like her right eye (our left) may be a little dark - but I think it is just a shadow. Not sure.

From the NG transcripts

COOK-MORRISSEY: At 2:00 o`clock, my mother, their grandmother, called and said she couldn`t find them. They`d been on a bike ride, and you know, to come directly to Heather`s home. I only work just up the street. I came directly there...My mom had been driving around looking for them. We stood in the yard and talked for a few minutes. Heather pulled up, had not been able to find them. It was about 2:20, 2:30 PM. And so Heather said, I`m going to the police station. And that`s when she went to the Evansdale PD to involve them.

I dabble in a bit of statement analysis and this seems extremely unusual wording.

It was Heather's decision to call the Evansdale PD, not MCMs or WC's. The phrase "to involve them" sounds like it's optional, a choice Heather alone made.

Indeed, Heather went unaccompanied to the police station to report her daughter missing.

She is placing Heather's decision to alert LE outside of her and her mothers decision, which was clearly not to "involve" LE. This would be contradictory behaviour because they say they were alarmed and searching almost straight away.

The question is then, why did they not want LE involved?

TG didn't see the girls; he allegedly saw their bikes laying down on the trail and was riding his own bike and had to swerve to avoid hitting their bikes.

Thanks so much. So many are nit picking about times.
All my clocks are different, all of them. I put them forward to give me extra time in the morning. Car clock is off too.

:moo:

I think it is good that grandma loves the girls enough she knows they can deal with the girls being 'abused' if they just come back alive. MOO

I remember seeing video years ago after an 8 year old was rescued after 3 weeks of abuse. The family had just learned she was alive and one of the aunts was shaking the oldest female (great grandmother, IIRC) and saying "She's alive!. We'll get past the rest. She's alive." The older lady was from a generation which didn't think getting past it was possible. MOO, of course.

Just catching up... hoping for new news!

I read the comment the same way you did and a few others have posted. It might even be to help make sure the girls DO get back alive, as in, "bring them back, we won't come after you." Just think of what Jaycee Lee Dugard's family has had to "get past" or anyway is working on getting past. What she went through is horrible obviously but can you imagine being her Mom and hearing "we found your daughter" and "oh by the way... you're a grandma"? But I know her Mom's still so happy to have her back home. (IMO)

Perhaps Jason is the body in the lake.

Are there just a lot of lakes in Iowa?

My husband is from Iowa. When we first met (in another state) he had a boat. I couldn't believe there were any lakes in Iowa. Being from a South Atlantic state I naively thought there was no water in the middle of the country. I made him get out the atlas and show me where there were lakes - ha!

Is everyone aware that MC also has a brother (JC), who is a known meth user as well?

Has anyone either located Dan's accomplice JS, or identified the dead man in the lake 80 miles away?

The thought of it is interesting indeed. If someone were paddle boating and saw two girls on the shore watching and paddled over to invite them to go for a ride in the paddle boat then their scent on land would end at the shore. If once in the paddle boat the person refused to take them back to the place they boarded and instead went to some other part of the lake, maybe where a truck was waiting and offered to give them a ride back over to their bikes just to get them in a vehicle while he/she loaded up the paddle boat, then abducted them. I could see that scenario happening, especially since the person seen paddle boating has not come forward. Haven't read all the posts on this thread yet so I don't know if this is being discussed already. It is a theory worth mulling over. I wonder if there are any other access points around the lake? Any private property with lake access?

Thinking about this too, however IMHO, paddle boats aren't like regular boats. You really have to work to get those things moving, you know? It might be tough for one person to paddle the boat and keep two other people on the boat against their will. Just makes me think since they've said both girls know how to swim (and have gone swimming in ponds/lakes) that chances are they might have been able to jump off of the paddle boat. Plus, many paddle boats aren't that big. I saw a photo in an earlier thread of a paddle boat, but do we know what type of model the boat was? Just wondering aloud and all just IMHO, of course.
