Very short article.
In the area where David Schultz is missing.

"This is not like him; he would never ever go missing, he would never miss work. Something is wrong. We need to do something," said Mary Brown, Riesberg's sister.

Brown says his employer, Essentia in Lytton, reported her brother missing on Nov. 1. The Calhoun County sheriff says Riesberg's last known contact with anyone can be traced back to Oct. 28.

Brown says, while her brother's phone and wallet were found in his house, his tan PT Cruiser is gone.

"I don't know if someone came to the door in the middle of the night and needed help, of course, Mark is going to help anybody. I don't know if he went out to help somebody, I just don't know why we can't find him or his car," Brown said.

This comes as a search is underway for 53-year-old David Schultz of Wall Lake in neighboring Sac County. He's been missing for more than a week now.

Brown says it's frustrating to see all the people and tools being used to find Schultz. She thinks the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office needs to do more to find her brother.

"I said no, you can't be serious. And they said to tell you the truth, we'll probably find him in the bottom of a pond in a few years. Like just no compassion, are you kidding me," she said.

Calhoun County Sheriff Pat Riley wasn't available for an on-camera interview but told KCCI he believes Riesberg may have left voluntarily, and there is no evidence indicating anything criminal may have happened to him. Sheriff Riley also said there is no reason to believe the disappearances of Mark Riesberg and David Schultz are connected — despite only 15 miles separating them.

Agriculture and meat industries are common occupations in Iowa.

A common thread, no doubt about it.

Is it competitive...much???

... In a brief conversation with the Wright County Monitor, she shared that she believes he must have gotten out of bed in the middle of the night, judging by the state of his bed.

Brown assumes her brother left his bed to assist someone who came to his door. Riesberg’s home is along Highway 20 outside of Lytton.

EBM, snip.

Sister thinks someone came to his door for help but do you suppose LE checked his phone for recent calls???

Being on Highway 20 in Lytton it's to close for comfort to where David Schultz could have been intercepted along highway 20. Maybe someone alone/along there need help. Mark's house is somewhere along the highway pretty darn close to the intersection where DS's truck turned north....DS also left his wallet and phone behind...just saying.

Also a different county handling MR's case FWIW.

The Wright County Monitor has reached out to Calhoun County Sheriff’s office but at the time of this publication, has not heard back. Brown shared that she felt Mark’s sudden absence is not receiving the attention required because the investigators feel as an adult, Mark has the right to leave without telling anyone his whereabouts.
