If he did vacuum, did they examine the vacuum?
That was just so bizzare to even mention it. He went to get it after work. He didn't shower first (after working long hard day in the heat for 12 hours) he went and got the vacuum and then showered when masked men came in his house.

I guess I wasn't sure the point of mentioning the vacuum unless it was coming up later. I either missed what happened later or they never brought it back up. Just like the date.. never heard that again either.. who was the date with? Why didn't she get called to verify they did have a date.

And why the testimony about blood droplets near dead cattle?

Their arguments felt disorganized, so I kept waiting for it all to come together, but it never did. Random shots fired aimlessly, it seems.

I dunno -- Attorney Chad Frese seemed to forget that his client is one CBR that told a whopper of a story in his own words yesterday! Frese has not explained or mentioned the ninjas in support of his client being innocent.

Frese is still focused on DJ and investigators not looking at others.

He hurt everyone when he killed her. Both sides of the family and the community
The damage to the community. This I wonder about. I grew up in a small agricultural town. Lots of migrant labor. But things were fine. Seems like it was in this area too. But this crime, the fact its an illegal on trial, the gf throwing out the statement that Mollie's bf was a "racist," yikes. If there wasn't racial tension before, there very well could be now.

Frese starts by thanking jury for their time and commenting on innocent victim Mollie Tibbetts. "She was just about to spread her wings and fly. We sympathize with her family. This young lady was on her way to being someone special."

It is my understanding that to everyone that knew her, Mollie WAS SOMEONE SPECIAL when she was murdered.
THANK YOU> I was about to post the same thought. Why would he say she was 'on her way' to being someone special. Idiotic wording.

Oh that's right I didn't see that part! I need to go back and watch that. I remember reading the comments and thinking I have to watch because that sounds like more wild goose chasing.

Where in the rebuttal does he call Rivera a rapist?
Can someone direct me?
He didn't say it directly, he said the motive was sexual I believe was the wording. Legs spread, clothing missing, bra pulled up and he said he left her fully clothed, but the body wasn't disturbed because the corn was just as he left it.

I wonder if he got the vacuum. Was not in the car that I remember

Brown: "Who had a motive? If not the defendant, who? He tells us his motive - anger. One of the oldest motives in the history of human behavior."

Mollie's body is left 500 feet into the corn. Brown: "She is unfindable, except by the defendant."

Brown: (Speaking on Rivera's new masked men story) "What's the problem with it? It doesn't make sense. It doesn't fit."

Brown showing the video again of runner presumed to be Mollie at 7:45pm. 30 seconds later, the car is driving near the running route, all taken from same home security cameras.

"Who killed Mollie Tibbetts?" Brown asks. Goes back to his big 3 - car on video, confession, blood in trunk.

Closing arguments. Prosecution is up first. Poweshiek Co. Attorney Bart Klaver gave the opening. Assistant AG Scott Brown giving the closing.

Sharing the results of my informal poll from yesterday... 77% of people say they don't believe the "mystery men" story from Bahena Rivera's testimony yesterday. 22% responded with "seems possible". Again, not scientific poll. But interesting.

State rests with that rebuttal. Quick break. Jury is going to get instructions when they return, followed by closing arguments and deliberations.

Wilson says Dalton spent the evening of the 18th with the crew - grilling, drinking beers and playing bags. The next day they worked until about 2pm. Dalton seemed sad that day, expressed worry about not being able to contact Mollie.

Good morning from the Quad Cities. We are about to get started - potential for rebuttal witnesses from the prosecution before closing arguments in the Bahena Rivera trial.

22% of people polled think the sweatered ninja bandito tall tale "seems possible"? Where the heck are they getting these ppl?!

So for those more familiar with the process, are there any avenues for future appeals that are apparent?
I really don't think so -- Judge Joel Yates was so generous with this defense. I also watched the two days of suppression of evidence hearings and this really made a difference to me. I feel strongly that CBR received a fair trial and his conviction will be based on the facts and evidence and not by some procedural error or violation of CBR's rights.
