From my house to the nearest big city is 160 miles, over a mountain range. My phone and internet work the whole way except for a couple brief spots. Amazing to me
Dang. I am currently in rural East Texas & the coverage is abysmal. Never mind trying to get home Wifi.

My connectivity here can be iffy, which is quite a handicap for an amateur lurking sleuther

Maybe I missed something. But why two vehicles?
Could it be possible that one of the two mentioned vehicles belongs to Ethan's brother? I recall reading in the early days of the case that he was among the friends called to the house before the 911 call was made and was the one to tell his parents that Ethan had been murdered. (I'll see if I can find the orignal course for that information.)

Often if you are enrolled in a vocational program while in high school you get out early to attend classes or work somewhere related to your skill you are training for. Due to laws for any disability, I don't think you can be treated differentially because of legalities, ie: getting out of school early etc.
Yes, that is true. But I can’t resolve him being a bright, very intelligent teen according to friends, soon to be considered brilliant by a professor, but only went to high school part time while enrolled in a HVAC Vocational Training program instead of college prep coursework, as far as I understand.
He was in some kind of supposed junior LE club in 2011 and at the same professed an interest in becoming an Army Ranger all while allegedly posting of profound disturbances in VS, allegedly.

All while enrolled in a blue collar job training program at 16, allegedly using heroin, allegedly doing rehab, getting a school guard job only to then begin zipping through two degrees with honors?!?!
Is that not all a very peculiar path and trajectory? MOO

I think you are on to something
Ehh I'm not so sure. They will be able to tell if Ethan could have been responsible for his own injuries and I just don't think accusing a triplet of one of the victims would be smart.

I think the defense just filed to hold all evidence and that included everything in possession of LEO.

After reading the affidavit and looking at what we know now regarding other aspects of the case some things just doesn't add up to me.

<modsnip>

I could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised at all if another big revelation or two comes out between now and the trial.

I am curious about the photo on the ID badge he is wearing in this photo but can’t clearly distinguish if he has sun glasses on or if it is similar to his Visual Snow avatar?
Has anyone else seen that photo ID clearly?
As SillyBilly mentioned, I too had and have big doubts about the veracity of his supposed symptoms and wonder if he didn’t choose that obscure forum to begin exploring another kind of effects of possible depersonalization. I have also entertained the thought that he was looking to understand another close family member’s mindset and behavior.
He was in the LE club as a Sophmore in 2011, thinking about becoming an Army Ranger at the time he did the VS posting. He graduated in 2013? Had supposedly been into Heroin between Jr and Sr high school year? Enrilled in CC in 2016?9
Do we know when he dropped out of the Vocational training program or true date date range of his employment as a Security Guard?
Why would such a bright person be in high school classes only half a day? Would he have been placed there for behavioral issues?
It doesn’t all add up IMO.

I think I posted this wrong, but doesn't it seem awfully young to be so self-aware of your psychopathy? IMO

Part of me really wants to know what makes this guy tick, but part of me really does NOT.

This isn't 1972 anymore.

I'd like to know if the depraved coward actually/seriously thought that he'd get away with committing a crime like this in 2023?

If he actually did think that he'd never get caught, not only is he not very bright, but highly delusional, to boot.

Of course, it's quite possible that knew he'd eventually get caught and/or wanted to get caught to gain the notoriety.

I bet, BK defense attorneys are going to try to create reasonable doubt and say that Ethan and/or his brother could have committed the crime, as a reason for thr vehicles being there. And that would be absolutely awful and disrespectful.
If they try to go that route, they're just grasping at straws. There is too much evidence that BK committed the murders. But, the defense team has to try anything I imagine. There is nothing unusual about their vehicles being there, but the defense will try anything I guess, attorneys don't care about being awful and disrespectful, it's their job to do anything they can to get their client off, and create doubt.

Most routine check-ups at university clinics don't involve disrobing. IME. People have to have TB tests to be teachers/TA's though, so a forearm might need to be produced. A major reason students drop by is...anxiety. I wonder if he receives treatment for his VSS.
I've never had to have a TB test to teach or TA at universities in the US (nor have I heard of this and I'm around BK's age), so I don't think that would be a reason BK went to the clinic / had to expose skin.

The WSU on-campus clinic has a pharmacy, vision clinic, mental health services, primary care, and a few other medical services (more info here, not sure if this has been linked). They also offer flu shots...

It is indeed a puzzlement. After reading what I believe are all of his TAT posts, I see a bright young man who is facing a profound illness/disability and trying to find an answer.

He tries rigid discipline (army interests), special diets (more than one), and sees specialists and is prescribed a medicine that makes him "crazy," he says (he mentions that he has violent urges during that phase). He worries that he'll never have a normal life and can't understand why this illness is happening to him.

So, from my POV, he lost functioning. He couldn't really finish HS, he goes to adult ed/technical school. Gains some functioning at some point. Goes to an online university, is optimistic that he'll be part of society. He worries, in the TAT, that he will be denied a "normal life."

And yes, according to what we have available on the media thread here, he's also doing heroin.

Look up DeSales's admission rates and completion rates. This is not a selective program. That is not to say it's bad. I'm sure he learned a lot. But it's not the same as, say, getting a job as a uniformed police officer and *then* doing criminal justice. Most people in CJ programs have work experience of some kind, IME.

His whole trajectory is peculiar, bumpy and fraught with concerning circumstances. I believe his family desperately wanted to believe he was "okay" and could be launched. I believe they all knew he was "different" and were encouraging him on these various pathways. They must have been so hopeful when he went out to WSU.

I believe that he knew he had major social/psychological/neurological deficits, but finally gained hope that he'd succeed anyway. Something broke and this all went pear-shaped. I don't think there was a good way to predict it, either.
