I suspect that Tammy's children are deeply saturated in cult brain. I doubt they have come to believe that Tammy was murdered- especially not by their father.

But if they are not so deeply in denial- they might rationally choose silence, working for the best possible outcome legally for their father (life spared).

I wouldn't blame them if they believed their father responsible- wanted justice for their mother- yet wanted him spared execution. I wouldn't consider that disloyal to their mother.

Whether it's failure to realistically assess the situation, or a horrific circumstance that they fully grasp, the children of Tammy are not in a position to speak on her behalf as a victim.

I'm happy Tammy has an additional classy voice.

MOO.

That feels like a good, fair take on the kids in this situation. It's not like they wanted mom to be killed, and dad to do all this evil.

That having been said, if there's ever been a person who needs the DP, this guy is 100% the one. Sorry kids, but if your dad is a monster, he cant be treated otherwise.

His whole schtick for years has been to justify killing other people, for his own personal gratification. Get a hot date, have phone sex, have real sex, erase previous spouses and kids, it has been a fully planned, elaborate set of "revelations" he's created to justify killing whoever is inconvenient to his whims. Innocent sweet kids who never did anything to deserve it. Innocent wife who supported him and his weirdness. Rather than just walk away, he kills them all so they won't be in the way in his new life.

He's voided his right to continue to live. If he'll kill innocents like he did, he'll kill anyone. Including your loved ones and mine. Gotta end that possibility entirely.

Just my 2c.

He won’t kill innocents if he’s behind bars for the rest of his life, so no need to kill him. He might prefer the martyrdom of execution to perpetual removal from the society of followers he was building while still a free man.

July 31st is just a little over a week away...**(a week from Tuesday**), so mark your calendar as a reminder to watch LVD hopefully get sentenced to multiple LWOP's. Oh, it's at 9:00 am. their time.

Hopefully there won't be delays of any kind.

Error in above post... The 31st is next Monday, NOT TUESDAY. I apologize for the inaccuracy. :confused:o_O

Hmmmm...what now?

Lori Daybell asks judge to prohibit Tammy Daybell's aunt from speaking at sentencing - East Idaho News

Lori Vallow Daybell’s defense attorneys do not believe Tammy Daybell’s aunt has a right to speak during Lori’s sentencing hearing next week.

Vicki Hoban, Tammy Daybell’s aunt, filed a request in June asking Judge Steven Boyce for permission to give a victim impact statement during the sentencing. Boyce initially denied the request saying Idaho law only recognizes “immediate” family members as victims and an aunt does not fit that definition.

A presentence report filed Friday shows victim impact statements were submitted by Tammy Daybell’s sister, Samantha Gwilliam, and her father, Ron Douglas, according to a motion filed by Jim Archibald and John Thomas, Lori Daybell’s attorneys. Because of that, they argue Hoban should not speak.

“With Tammy’s sister and father submitting letters to the court, it is no longer necessary for the court to designate a family representative for Tammy’s mother. An aunt is not listed as a victim under Idaho law; therefore, the court should not receive comments from Vicki Hoban as a victim,” Archibald wrote.

A hearing on the issue will be held via Zoom on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. EastIdahoNews.com will livestream the proceedings.

6/14/23 Update: Back in court for Vallow for a motion for new trial hearing on 6/15/23.
6/15/23 Update: Judge Boyce presiding for a motion for a new trial which was filed on 5/25/23. Jim Archibald gave oral arguments. Archibald says they never asked for separation of the trials. It was Chad who asked for his own trial. Says we are okay to have our new trial reset at the same time as Chad's trial - if motion granted. Lindsey Blake gave arguments for the State. And Archibald gave his follow up argument. Judge Boyce: The court does determine that the first grounds for a new trial, the allegation that the jury was impermissibly instructed on conspiracy, I shall deny the motion on that ground. As it relates to a conspiracy charge, the court does not find in this case that it has been shown that is would violate due process. Also the juror interview was never submitted to the court in an affidavit, so he did not see it as evidence. Judge Boyce denies the argument for a new trial based on the indictment changing the number of conspirators from 5 to 2. Judge Boyce rules that there will NOT be a new trial for Vallow.

ST. ANTHONY, Idaho — Lori Vallow Daybell's defense attorneys do not believe Tammy Daybell's aunt has a right to speak during Lori Daybell's sentencing hearing

...A hearing on the issue will be held Wednesday.

Good to see that Judge B is still allowing TD’s aunt to speak. Agree with you, Caylee Advocate, this was all so petty. The aunt’s victim impact statement won’t make any difference in the Judge’s decision on sentencing and it won’t make a difference to LVD either but it will make a difference to the aunt to have this opportunity and it may make a difference to the Daybell children who might get more from what their aunt says than they have allowed themselves to hear/believe so far - and it was pretty pathetic of the defense to even bother objecting to the judge’s prior ruling that the aunt could give speak.

I think that it is petty indeed, as death is off the table. I don't see how this statement could change her sentence in a way that impacts this probation in particular.

Or, does she believe the incarceration could resume if the second coming is terribly delayed and she is needed on earth again?

This makes me beyond angry! Lori is guilty. Why do they have to try to prevent Hoban from telling the court how the loss has affected her. The judge has likely already decided on the sentence. This woman deserves to speak and to try to get some catharsis.

This is truly sickening.

You’re so right. When i watched the Zoom hearing, I was struck on the one hand by LVD’s full-blown hair and makeup — one of her last chances to trot out what she imagines to be her staggering beauty — and on the other by everyone else’s straightforward interest in getting all this the hell OVER with. The Daybell children deserve to hear their mother eulogized by as many loving people as possible while one of her murderers waits to hear what the law has in store for her.

still say~ LVD’s hair looks like heavy old brown stained green carpet. Yuck.

Apparently her voice will be in the form of a letter already on file.
