*Lori Norene Vallow aka Lori Norene Daybell (46/now 50) arrested (in Kauai, Hawaii on 2/20/20) & indicted &
charged (5/25/21) & re-arraigned (4/19/22) with Count 1 (for
Tylee): Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder & grand theft by deception (for Daybell,
Vallow & Alex Cox) & other co-conspirators. Count 2 (for
Tylee): 1st degree murder. Count 3 (for
JJ): Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder & grand theft by deception. Count 4 (for
JJ): 1st degree murder. Count 5 (for
Tammy): Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder. Count 6:
Lori only: Grand theft (related to social security survivor benefits allocated for the care of minors
Tylee & JJ). Plead not guilty. DA will seek DP. Was transferred to Ada County jail on 3/22/23. Fremont County
Conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence charges dismissed without prejudice on 7/29/21. Fremont County
Resisting or obstructing LE, solicitation of a crime & contempt of court. All charges were dismissed on 1/3/22. Madison County
Trial began on 4/3/23 with jury selection & ended 4/7/23. 12 jurors & 6 alternates (10 men & 8 women). 12 jurors (7 men & 5 women) will deliberate. 5/11/23 Day 1: ~ hours total.
Trial began on 4/10/23 (everyday @ 8:30am to 3:30pm). Trial will be held in Ada County. (will last about 10 weeks) Trials have been severed. Trial ended on 5/11/23 with closing arguments. Jury started deliberations from 5/11 to 5/12/23: Total deliberations: ~7 hours & 45 minutes.
VERDICT: Count one (conspiracy Tylee) – GUILTY; Count two: (murder Tylee) – GUILTY, Count three: (conspiracy JJ) – GUILTY; Count four: (murder JJ) – GUILTY; Count five: (conspiracy Tammy) – GUILTY; Count seven: (grand theft) – GUILTY

6/14/23 Update: Back in court for Vallow for a motion for new trial hearing on 6/15/23.
6/15/23 Update: Judge Boyce presiding for a motion for a new trial which was filed on 5/25/23. Jim Archibald gave oral arguments. Archibald says they never asked for separation of the trials. It was Chad who asked for his own trial. Says we are okay to have our new trial reset at the same time as Chad's trial - if motion granted. Lindsey Blake gave arguments for the State. And Archibald gave his follow up argument. Judge Boyce: The court does determine that the first grounds for a new trial, the allegation that the jury was impermissibly instructed on conspiracy, I shall deny the motion on that ground. As it relates to a conspiracy charge, the court does not find in this case that it has been shown that is would violate due process. Also the juror interview was never submitted to the court in an affidavit, so he did not see it as evidence. Judge Boyce denies the argument for a new trial based on the indictment changing the number of conspirators from 5 to 2. Judge Boyce rules that there will NOT be a new trial for Vallow.

7/25/23 Update: Daybell’s defense attorneys do not believe Tammy Daybell’s aunt has a right to speak during Lori’s sentencing hearing next week. Vicki Hoban, Tammy Daybell’s aunt, filed a request in June asking Judge Steven Boyce for permission to give a victim impact statement during the sentencing. Boyce initially denied the request saying Idaho law only recognizes “immediate” family members as victims & an aunt does not fit that definition. A presentence report filed Friday shows victim impact statements were submitted by Tammy Daybell’s sister, Samantha Gwilliam, and her father, Ron Douglas, according to a motion filed by Jim Archibald and John Thomas, Lori Daybell’s attorneys. Because of that, they argue Hoban should not speak. “With Tammy’s sister and father submitting letters to the court, it is no longer necessary for the court to designate a family representative for Tammy’s mother. An aunt is not listed as a victim under Idaho law; therefore, the court should not receive comments from Vicki Hoban as a victim,” Archibald wrote. A hearing on the issue will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, 7/26/23 at 9:30am.
*Chad Guy Daybell (53/now 54) – Final pretrial conference hearing on 2/22/24. Trial set to begin on 4/1/24 in Ada County.

Charles Vallow (62) shot & killed on July 11, 2019 in Chandler, AZ. *Lori Norene Vallow (46/now 50)
indicted (6/24/21) & served (6/29/21) &
charged (10/2/19) with 1 count of conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder.
AZ –
Brandon Boudreaux () attempted murder on Oct. 2, 2019 in Gilbert, AZ. *Lori Norene Vallow (46/now 50)
indicted (2/24/22) (but not served yet) with 1 count of 1st degree premeditated murder (per court site) on Oct. 2, 2019 in Gilbert, AZ. Bond at $1M.
Will be extradited after sentencing hearing on 7/31/23.
