Update: Missing man at Robie Creek found dead

Boise County Sheriff's Office confirmed James Sumpter, who has been missing since July 24, was found dead.

Sumpter is 53 years old, weighs 120 to 140 pounds and is around 5'6. Police said he usually wears shorts with a black or grey tank top and sandals with socks. He has brown curly hair cut into a mullet.

He was last seen July 24.

Search Party Planned For Missing South Idaho Man

August 9 through 11 there is a search planned at Robie Creek Park, and anyone who can assist will aid efforts to locate him.

His last known location was approximately 25 miles east of Boise at his home near Robie Creek Park. His profile was shared on the Idaho Missing Persons Alerts Facebook page.

A Boise County man who went missing near Robie Creek has been found deceased.

A Boise County man who went missing near Robie Creek has been found deceased.

James Sumpter, 54, had been missing since July 24 and was found on Aug. 7, according to an Idaho Mountain Search & Rescue Unit Facebook post. Sumpter was found in "an area of thick, spiny vegetation" in a "highly obscured location that made him very difficult to locate," the Facebook post says.
