I thought the idea about having a burner phone is you use them then discard/destroy them. Does LE have the actual phones? If they have the actual phones than they Chad & Co are really dumb. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Jmo
JMO but LE does not need to have the phones to follow the trail.
Call logs, pings, etc will show the numbers for each phone.
But, 60 PHONES?? ??
Sheesh-- that is a whole lot of tracking for LE/Techs to have to search through.

Investigators have to specify exactly what they are looking for and justify why. They can’t just go on a “fishing expedition” like, “We wanna go through this guy’s phone - just to see what might be there.”

What are the requirements for a warrant to be granted typically speaking. Most of the warrants I've seen executed seem to be that they've established enough reasons for it to be issued. However, there's no real way to know "exactly" what you're looking for. Would love to hear from anyone familiar with the exact process as it's had a broad range of outcomes throughout the US.

I agree. You'd think she could at least TRY to look shocked and saddened. Far to much smiling (pretty much non stop) for me.
Yeah.. I am still on the fence about my feeling towards her.
I understand people forgiving her because she came forward, and I am glad she came forward.
I just have a lot of negative thoughts about that and about her.

You are not alone in thinking that his death was not natural. I would like to see an independent autopsy done.
I believe the LE that were present at his autopsy preserved some part of him for later studies. It was discussed here. I am hoping something from the autopsies of the children will match up with Tammy and ALex’s deaths.

I’m wondering also if it is found they were all poisoned somehow, if federal charges could be filed against both Chad and Lori since the deaths crossed State lines? Surely this would be classified as serial killings or terroristic killings or hate crimes. Something!

Did you see his youtube audio? Heavy stuff. I am not sure if we can post that either, now that he has been on msm? But we have danced around him a bit.....
I didn't see the YouTube audio but I'm curious. During last night's Dateline, DW seemed really disgusted by the whole thing. Yet like so many others he never contacted authorities. ?? Perhaps I'm wrong and he did. ??

I downloaded the NBC app and I’m watching it now.

Just finished watching the full episode (only saw bits n' pieces last night), and it was my favorite episode on this case.

Maybe I would feel differently about some of the people associated with C&L IF I had been exposed to some type of cult during my life.

Hi. In paragraph 8 and the last paragraph she referred to Tylee as Tyty. I had never seen or heard that anyone referred to Tylee that way so I took it that she misspelled her name. I’m sorry if that was some pet name for Tylee.

I didn’t sense pain in her letter but that’s me. She and her mother made sure to trash CV and JJs grandmother and now that they have found their sister/daughter knew and likely planned the murders and never bothered telling the truth, she still won’t discuss that fact.

You and I can agree to disagree.
I completely respect your read. I don’t think we can know for sure, and we each bring different perspectives to how we read things like this, which, to me, makes the discussion worthwhile and interesting. My empathy sometimes makes me too gentle, so I appreciate reads like yours as a counter.
Re: TyTy, I assumed it is a pet name & didn’t think anything of it, as we called my niece, Taylor, “TayTay” when she was younger. Like I said, we each bring different things to the conversation.

The video within this tweet cracks me up! His daughter is shown mimicking him while he is doing all the vocal lead in for stations for the special. I just love Kieth Morrison's voice, it's like Donald Suterland's to me... smooooooth.

When you’re quarantining and your dad,@dateline_keith, has to work to promote his all-new #Dateline episode tonight at 10/9c...
Too cute! She looks like him.

I love his voice too!

Religious people (not just the LDS) believe prayer heals the sick. Why wouldn't they also believe the opposite? Look at it this way, if one really believes that they are "chosen" to be with someone else or to leave their marriage, etc., wouldn't "God" make that happen?

The issue in this instance is how many magical things the observer is asked to believe at once.

I'm praying for Tammy to die, because
1. I've been chosen to be with this other woman (the second such woman in 2 years, for those playing the home game), because
2. Tammy has an important mission to fulfill in heaven, and
3. Tammy is no longer Tammy, because
4. She's left her body for some kind of purgatory, and
5. Her body is now possessed by an evil spirit, and
6. The only way for the spirit to leave is for Tammy's body to die

That's not a leap of faith; that's a series of Olympic long jumps, IMO. A tortured series of excuses created by a child-like imagination (Chad's).

They were all challenging according to her book authour description. JJ was challenging, Tylee was challenging

I don’t see how anyone can blame their denials on being a member of the cult. We all have a soul and a conscience.

My take, Chad was helping MG to avoid telling a lie. This illustrates to me again that lying was considered a grave sin . . .

Oh no. Chad was never one to worry about telling a lie. Well before we discovered he was (likely) a murderer, we knew he was a truly pathological liar.

There are so many examples of lies that were not only blatant but destined to be exposed almost immediately as lies. @indicolite22 has already brought up the time he told police that he didn't know Lori very well. There were plenty more of these outright lies, most of them pretty transparent attempts to cover up wrong-doing. One egregious example is when he told Christopher Parrot that the kids were fine and were simply being protected from a nasty custody battle. (To be clear, I do not generally consider CP a reliable source, but I assume he's basically telling the truth here.)

There are also all the sensational stories that Chad tells in his books and blogs. If you make the assumption that he is not completely insane, then there is no plausible alternative to believing that those stories are lies. He himself has said they are not meant to be read metaphorically, so what other possible explanation is there for his doubling and tripling down on the things he insists were revealed to him by spirits in another realm?

Most people lie, but there's an innate preference for telling the truth: it takes energy to override that instinct and knowingly lie. But not with Chad. In my mind, there's little doubt lies come easily and naturally to him. There can be no presumption of truth.

You are right. I’m still emotional about the kids and the cover up by so many.

The forensic specialist that Tricia had on YouTube opined that the ME doing Alex Cox's autopsy did not note any gross findings (that is, things to be observed by the bare senses of sight, snele, feel etc.) indicating poisoning such as characteristic smell or discoloration of the organs, therefore did not feel further toxicology testing was required.
If there were ever a case where one needed to dig deeper, it would be Alex Cox' case, considering people around him were dropping like flies.

I have never heard of him coming forward and I think we would have heard that unless he wanted to be completely anonymous about it.
I just don't think he ever did though.
I am surprised that MG did.
They are all pretty much self-centered individuals wrapped up in CD's and LVD's circle of craziness
I still think they are all just in CYA mode.. the whole lot of them, LVD's family included.
