If they are searching forested areas near Weiser, ID then it does seem it might be foul play and he was abducted.

I've always held out hope it wasn't foul play and that he ran off and had an accident in a lake/forest/mine/drain etc and just wasn't found.
Link please. Where are u seeing the Weiser searching?

Is this new or did I miss something? Did we know this before yesterday?
"The Fruitland Police Dept. on Wednesday said search efforts over the last few weeks have included more ground searches in a "remote forested area" north of Weiser."
Did this come from a tip? I wonder why they are publicizing this. Surely they have searched many other places they haven't mentioned.
Weiser is a small town about 25 min. from Fruitland.

I'm somewhat familiar with the area. My first thought re: "remote forested area" was one of the tiny mountain towns like Midvale. That's about 25 min. northwest of Weiser. My second thought was Mann Creek, which is closer to Weiser. I checked with a friend who is very familiar with the area, and Mann Creek was their first thought.

As you drive up past the Mann Creek Reservoir, it becomes a dirt road and forested and it can get pretty remote. I've been up there quite a few times with my friend.

Is this a message to someone? Are they telling someone they are getting close? Do they already have a go0d suspect? Do they just need to find Michael's location? Did the increased reward bring better tips? Why are the family speaking out more now? Message to someone?

IMO FPD and the other agencies have this.

IMO perp would have to be familiar with a "remote forested area."

@Mistree
Here is where the searches near Weiser are mentioned. The post was about 3 pages back by a Websleuther called ReadySet. There is a link at the bottom of the quoted post, and ReadySet is local and knows that area.

I think there is a third involved person, & it's this person who initially informed LE. I don't have a link, I don't honestly even know HOW to link, but I definitely recall when the latest news first broke they said 1 person had been in custody since May and then this chick was arrested for Failure to Report. I *think* IMO that there is an older (almost adult) child who also lived in the household who has talked to LE and precipitated the recent events. Regardless. Poor Monkey and I am grateful that the community is now rallying around his family.

LE, hopefully just didn’t go on her statements alone. That would be, well, nuts!
IMO!

All IMO: Even if just one person made a claim that a missing child was buried in their yard, and no other evidence yet existed, wouldn't it make sense to go ahead and thoroughly search the yard?
Right now I'm hoping this won't be a case of "knowing" they have the right people but not being able to find Michael.

Sorry if this has already been covered. Does the vehicle used by the woman arrested, or her husband's vehicle (if they have two), match the description of the vehicle LE wanted to rule in or out, seen at the time Monkey went missing?

According to Chief Huff, there is no connection between the Honda Pilot and the Wondras. Here's one of the links.

In the months since Vaughan disappeared, Fruitland Police and other investigators have been looking for information about a Honda Pilot seen in the boy's neighborhood the evening he was reported missing. Huff said Tuesday that there is no connection between that van and the house where the excavation is taking place.

Thank you so much for that. I haven't been following in depth since the arrest, mainly just looking at the thread title each day hoping to see it change from missing to located.

Hi Tortoise,
From what I've seen in the comments and articles linked so far, they have ruled the White car that they had no info on, as not involved.

IMO!
This is moo, but, I base it off what Huff told KTVB that it's not just one statement police were given that corroborated probable cause.

I don't think law enforcement has specifically said they think there is a third person who has information...They seem to be keeping most details to themselves (which makes sense). JMO.

Welcome to Websleuths!
"We want to resolve this and hold those people accountable who committed this crime," Huff said."

"He later told KTVB that it's not just one statement police were given that corroborated probable cause."
