"Two freshly-spent shotgun shells were also found, approximately a dozen feet from the clothing, and were marked as possible evidence. However, the area is a popular spot for hunters."

Yesterday in Alton a dozen US Marshals had attempted to arrest a man that had violated the provisions of his federal bond. He had federal charges related to methamphetamine. He was shot and killed as he had been hiding in a closet and was armed with a knife. The raid was at a home 4/10ths of a mile driving distance from hers. Probably a coincidence but with the timing of everything going on here I just wonder if perhaps she was in anyway connected to that guy.

My only reasoning for mentioning it is that one of her last posts on FB concerned being in court and not being jailed.

Interesting! I drove by Omega yesterday morning. Lots of cops!

I'm from northern Illinois - it IS an area popular for hunters. If you're going to abduct or otherwise attempt to harm someone, meeting up with them while carrying a shotgun is pretty obvious, a pistol in .45 or .380 would be more likely as it's concealable. I'me betting it's just spent brass from hunting season.

Apparently her husband adopted a baby in December 2017. Not sure why it wasn't worded that both of them had adopted a baby. Maybe that was just the way it was worded. However, if he only adopted the baby then that has specific implications that just adds to the drama of the prior year and may offer an explanation for all of it.

Charred? Now that is odd. If those were hers it would indicate foul play.

Otherwise, pill bottle, clothing, I would think suicide.

In either case, as you say, don't sound good.

The telegraph article was posted before some of the family was told about the discovery :(

"MADISON COUNTY, Ill. – The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has secured an area as a possible crime scene in the search for Adria Hatten.

Madison County Sheriff’s deputies say some clothing found by searchers Saturday does not belong to Hatten. There was however a prescription bottle found with the missing woman’s name on it.

Family, friends and*volunteers gathered at 10 am Saturday morning to search the area where Hatten’s abandoned car had been found earlier this week."

A new article with information http://www.thetelegraph.com/news/11...covered-during-search-for-missing-alton-woman

“There’s nothing at that scene, still, that gives me any more direction or insight on where she is,” Madison County Sheriff’s Office Capt. T. Mike Dixon told The Telegraph Saturday evening. “There is still nothing there to indicate foul play at that scene.”

“The clothing found today has roots growing out of it and was seeded into the mud,” Dixon said. “It’d been there for years. It’s something our initial searchers saw. It has no relationship to the case.”

“There’s no way in hell she would be down here,” Jeff Hatten said. “She would know nothing about this place. Somebody who knows this area knows something. She’s a prissy, beautiful woman. She’s not just going to start putting on camouflage and come down here hiking, hunting and (expletive). It just isn’t her.”

We posted at same time sorry.

I'm going to Cottage Hills Monday. I might go by her last known address.

No worries. Information is paramount so the sooner it comes up the better. The more the merrier!

So I am assuming since dogs did not pick up any sent of her that someone ditched the car there or another car was chasing her, she got stuck in the mud, was grabbed and driven away. Whoever it was might have taken the pills and then tossed the prescription bottle.

No, since it's been a week, it doesn't look good at all. I am originally from that area and wanted to comment that there have been a number of carjackings in that area recently. A recent article (Jan 12) in the Alton Telegraph refers to "Recent carjackings, from Granite City to Pontoon Beach and Alton, are prompting the city’s police chief to assign extra officers to watch for suspicious people coming across the Clark Bridge this weekend." Madison, Horseshoe Lake fall into the same area. I hope this isn't the case with this woman but it is a possibility.

Here is the link to the article: http://www.thetelegraph.com/news/115822/alton-police-to-increase-patrols-by-clark-bridge-after-recent-carjackings

I should also add that even though the cameras were placed on the Clark Bridge, there are other bridges to and from St. Louis.
