Circumstances of Disappearance: Crosby was last seen in the area of Pana, Illinois on 02/27/2020 around 03:00 hours after his car went into a ditch. Crosby was seen leaving the area on foot on a neighbor's video.

ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ASKS THE PUBLIC FOR ASSISTANCE IN MISSING PERSONS INVESTIGATION

Springfield, IL - Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officials request the publics assistance in a missing persons investigations involving Daniel “Danny” Crosby of Carterville, Illinois.

On Friday, May 22, 2020 ISP DCI Zone 4 Investigators were asked to conduct an investigation into the disappearance Daniel Crosby. Crosby’s last known location was near the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Pana, Illinois during the early morning hours of February 27, 2020. Family and friends of Daniel Crosby have not had any contact with Crosby since February 27, 2020 when he was in Pana, Illinois. Crosby was reported missing to the Carterville, Illinois Police Department on March 18, 2020.

This ISP is again asking anyone who has additional information to contact the ISP DCI at (217) 782-4750.

Nearly 1 year later, family continues to search for Danny Crosby

Crosby has not been seen since February 27, 2020 near the Pana Tri-County Fairgrounds.

"I encourage people to think back, it was about a year ago," said Danny's father. "I would just encourage them to think back and see if they remember anything from that night, especially that live on this side of town. Also if they've heard other people say they know something then I would encourage them to contact the police."

The Illinois State Police released a statement to WAND News on Thursday.

"The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) remains committed to the search for Danny Crosby. If anyone has any information regarding this case, they are asked to contact the ISP DCI Zone 4 at (217) 782-4750."

On Saturday, March 20, 2021, ISP Division of Criminal Investigation along with the Christian-Montgomery Emergency Management agency, Pana Police Department, Pana Fire Department, and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office will be expanding the search for missing person, Daniel “Danny” Crosby.

Additional information from the public has caused investigators to expand the search area near the Tri-County Fairgrounds. The public is asked to stay out of the area near and adjacent to the fairgrounds as authorities intensify their search.

On Saturday, March 20, 2021 Illinois State Police (ISP) agents located human skeletal remains in a field near the 2500 block of E. 6th Street Road in Pana, Illinois.

The remains were discovered close to the last known location of Daniel Crosby.

Daniel Timothy Crosby – The Charley Project

Crosby disappeared from Pana, Illinois on February 27, 2020, after his car went into a ditch and he left the accident scene on foot. In March 2021, his skeletal remains were found in rural Pana and were identified by dental records. The bones did not show obvious signs of trauma, but Crosby's death remains under investigation.
