And LT>G was asked to help with the inventory, but he died. JMO

Because he was head of Records and Operations he would almost have to help. His job wouldn't give him a choice. He probably kept most of the books not associated with evidence. Evidence inventory was Lt. Norriss's purview.

Why would he be ASKED to help, if that was part of his job? Since he reportedly was staying with the PD through September, his duties hadn't changed, had they? JMO

That is what I don't understand. They make out like it was some super special request when it was his job anyway. So unless this is just PR spin there is more to this than just some request.

Interesting timing with this coming out. Gold Shield inventories equipment in an investigation. Search Warrant issued presumably for a Fox Lake PD Officer. Good see WGN is continuing to dig on this story.

I never did understand who asked him stay.
I initially thought it was Behan which would put the extension before the reason for the inventory audit. But if was the town then they must have known he was leaving to ask him to stay. So did he tell them he was leaving?

I wonder if he threatened to leave when his good friend Behan was suspended and they asked him to stay because that would have meant the Chief and head of Operations were gone at once and that would be very difficult for the PD.

So they might have said they "needed" him to help with the transition.

Asking him to stay for a month with the PD was probably the Chief....but asking him to "help" with the inventory was probably Anne M, who was using Gold Shield for two investigations....One, was about the Chief Behan, the other was or is about PD inventory. JMO

How is that hunt for the trio of killers in Fox Lake progressing? Are there any updates? JMO

Because this is a thread dedicated to the case surrounding his DEATH. That is why it is disrespectful to have a page full of jokes and banter. JMO

If he killed himself and attempted to stage his suicide as a homicide, going so far as to suggest the responsibility of others, I would not feel any compulsion to show him respect. *If* he falsely cast suspicion on others for something that would amount to a capital crime, he deserves scorn, whether he were a policeman or a pimp.

:stop:

This thread is about Lt Charles Gliniewicz, police officer killed. Not some menu with vegetables on it.

If you want to discuss vegetables take it downstairs. This is not the place for it. I have deleted 30 off topic posts. If it continues you may find yourself without posting privileges.

Thank you!

They spent more time investigating the equipment? That must be one messy set of inventory bookkeeping....

Right? Maybe something wasn't matching up. That sounds like the kind of time a complete inventory would take and they don't hire outside people to do those. Weird.

I don't understand what they are doing that they needed to hire an outside person to investigate inventory. Unless they know that entire dept can't be trusted to give accurate numbers.

I fund it hinky as well the close ties this investigator has to this PD. So why they trust him but not anyone else in the dept?

Good point. When do internal investigations get squashed and external entities hired with additional expense? that is more public through meeting notes and expenditure registers?

I can only think they wouldn't have gotten board approval for the expenditure without showing they had zero confidence anything the internal audit would show could not be trusted.

I don't think it's the entire department, necessarily. There might be something hinky somewhere in the chain and they're not sure where. In that case, I think, it would be smart to pull them all out and have a third party come in to investigate.

But that's a lot of money going to a third party.

Was CG in charge of the bookkeeping, financial biz and inventory of the Explorers, as well? JMO
