I hadn't given it any thought, but that could be possible. I hope Galesburg PD still has the case file from Paul's disappearance. I can't find anything that states the address where he lived. Seems weird for him to simply vanish after visiting a record store; he intended to go back after cashing the check. IMO, it's highly unlikely he decided in a moment to hitch a ride to CA.I wonder if this old home ever had ties to the University of Illinois Galesburg? Could it have been used at extension offices or maybe fraternity or sorority housing?
I wonder if he had a connection to the house on Losey Street or whether the home was along the route to/from the record store from wherever Paul had been or was going. I'd imagine back in 1947 the record store may have been on Main St., which appears to be about 0.6 mile, depending on the available route back in '47.
So many unknowns. If those are Paul's remains, it'll be interesting watching this case unfold.
