It might be awhile before we hear anymore info. on this case. I have a feeling LE will be keeping this one close.
So far that's been true!

Agreed. I think this was well planned. In May 2021, the stbx reported a gun and money stolen from his vehicle, a few months after the initial divorce case. The father in law lives 400 feet from the residence she was murdered in. She tried and failed to file an order of protection from the fil and ex-husband. IMO the system failed to protect someone who was reaching out for help.

I assumed at first glance the top picture was at Becky's home, but after looking around at other news stories- see it's at Tims. Super curious about what is being collected from his driveway.

Muddy River News

UPDATED with a statement from Tim Bliefnick's attorney, Casey Schnack:
"Given the circumstances, it is not surprising that the search warrant was issued and executed," Schnack said. "My only surprise is that it took this long to do. It is just as important that QPD conduct such as investigation to rule Tim OUT as a suspect so that investigative efforts can be spent elsewhere."

Interesting comments at link.

Looks like her estranged husband has been arrested…

From the article ... "Tim Bliefnick has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of home invasion in the shooting death of his estranged wife, Becky Bliefnick. ..."

He was taken into custody by Quincy Police Monday morning.

I lived in Quincy, although I didn't know her, and have several Facebook friends who did know her. The family issues were taken off Judici.com when Becky was found deceased, mainly for privacy issues affecting their son, <modsnip - sleuthing family and discussing the social media of family members is not allowed> actually, it was the father-in-law who filed a protection order against Becky! That was also dropped due to lack of evidence.

As for "something happened to this guy", it sounds like the same story, all over again: Woman in "caring professions" (like, for instance, a nurse) meets a very bad man, and marries him and has multiple children with him, because she thinks she can change him. Yeah, it sounds like he was the Big Man On Campus when he was in high school, and never moved beyond that. This does not in any way mean that she deserved her fate, and her children definitely don't either.

(Believe me, it's not just strippers who send their child support money to their incarcerated boyfriends! Saw that more than once.)

I'll beg to differ. I read something different as I looked through the cases last week. It definitely appeared to me that Becky filed the case against her FIL. But unfortunately it is all taken down now so we can't go back and confirm.

I know what I saw, and I did a double-take when I saw that the FIL had indeed filed it against her. Chances are, they had some kind of argument and he felt that someone was in danger in the heat of the moment.

Or, saw an opportunity to cause trouble for another person...jmho of course.

Wouldn't be the first time we've seen something like that. Causing a problem because one can.

jmho ymmv lrr

Timothy Bliefnick: Accused in Murder of Rebecca Bliefnick

Schnack added to People: “He was active in the community. He was a youth football coach. He was actively involved in his church here. A lot of people knew him. It’s very surprising that this is where the family is at right now. He’s your standard, all-American, Midwestern dad.”

I'm pretty sure that this doesn't make someone innocent. How many people who killed others were coaches and active in their church. These are irrelevant. Many narcissists position themselves as good people in the community.
I'll wait until the verdict in the trial, but the points made by his defense counsel don't sway me at this point.

"In fact, several court documents were taken down from Illinois’ public records website, Judici.

The documents involved the couple and another family member in which orders of protection were filed. Rebecca Bliefnick, or a local domestic violence agency working on her behalf, filed the first restraining order against Tim Bliefnick. She later had also filed one against her father-in-law.

Sometime later, Tim Bliefnick filed one against his estranged wife."
