IN - 2 Day Crime Spree Involving Women *Arrested* 22 Charges, Indianapolis, 24 June 2020

Police arrested Victor Alvin Johnson for attacking four different women in Indianapolis.

On Thursday, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears charged Johnson with 22 counts including Attempted Murder, Attempted Rape, Criminal Confinement, Attempted Kidnapping and Attempted Sexual Battery.

Last August, he was sentenced to a year in prison for criminal trespass, but he only served two days. Then in November, he was convicted of battery and was sentenced to six months, but only served three days, plus probation.

Just this year in February, Johnson was arrested again for criminal trespassing and the case is still pending. Records show he was held for seven days after that arrest before he was released again.

Four months later, Johnson is now charged with attacking four different women.

I've been watching this case since it happened.

He has 17 protective orders. Indiana can be searched here; they don't give much info, though:

The 07/27 PTC was rescheduled to today; the next appearance hasn't been entered into court records yet. There is some question as to mental competency so that needs to be addressed. I don't understand the court processes; I'm clueless as to why it would take this long to deal with his possible mental issues.

From court reports, it seems to me that he certainly has some, unless he was totally out of his mind with drugs. Here are a couple of snips from the article linked; it details his attacks:

“He stated that he got beat up by some females earlier today, one of them having been a man who turned into a woman,” court documents cite Johnson as saying.

Johnson also said that people come out of time machines multiple times a day to bother him.

The detective also tried to ask him about the jogger who was stabbed and Johnson said “that the runners were naked. Then they were half-naked. A runner then disappeared and came back,” according to court documents.

The detective said Johnson was unable to identify who the President is."

Not much of an update. This court live streams; his attorney needs more time to access where to go with his mental issues. He is given meds in jail but he doesn't know what they are.

He finally has a status conference by video scheduled for tomorrow. There was a January motion to transport him from Logansport State Hospital but I don't see any record of that happening. He hasn't had any conferences since Feb.

He' 6'6", 200lbs; I would imagine he was pretty scary in his attacks.

Indiana just passed a new law that will help mentally ill/drug addicted inmates get placed in mental health facilities instead of jails. It sounds like it could be a good thing, depending on the quality of treatment and facilities.

I wonder what they'll do with him if he's found guilty?
