I agree with the articulation, to include noticeable pauses between words. although not sure what to make of it, many people talk that way moo

eta: also that "down the hill" still haunts me...... *shutters*

I know it haunts me too I listened to it once and never want to hear it again. It is very hard thinking about the fear he must have inflicted.

I’m thinking about Abigail and Liberty’s families as they face another Christmas without them. They must be going through hell every day and are they are unable to grieve because the monster is still free. I just hope 2019 brings an arrest.

“Also, if you were parked at High Bridge Trail Head on February 13, 2017 between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. we would like to talk to you,” police said.

Great post, a good refresher on early MSM reports. I found another one before I logged in a little while ago:

ISP: More audio recovered from slain Delphi teen's phone

Sgt. Holeman tells us several people have come forward and said they saw the killer walking on the trails the day Abby and Libby were killed. Those people helped develop a composite sketch that was released last month.

"several people"

One witness was walking her dog and saw BG at approximately 1:50, at the northwest (NW) approach to the bridge. I don't have a link handy, but remember seeing the info in an article. She passed A&L on the trail at approximately 1:55, but no words were exchanged.

I mention this stuff because for some reason the timeline was kinda tough for me early on. Now when I put the early part of the timeline together, it's even more disturbing.

The walk to the bridge from the parking area would have taken around 6 minutes, give or take. Just over a quarter mile. I see A&L passing BG on the trail, around the area of the bend. I'll bet BG went just a little further towards the parking area, and waited. Just out of sight of the girls as they made their way towards the bridge, but looking the other way he could have seen if people were making their way towards the bridge. All this time I figured he most likely went all the way back to the parking area, but why would he make the effort if his plan was to corner people at the end of the bridge?

So let's say they passed the woman with the dog at 1:55, passed BG at 1:56-1:58, then got to the bridge. Libby takes a pic of the length of the bridge, uploads to SnapChat with no modifications, etc. She steps on to the 3rd platform, turns around and takes a pic or pics, then modifies one, the one of Abby. then uploads it at 2:07. So from the time they passed BG (~1:57 or so), to the time the 2nd SC pic was uploaded, was around 9 minutes.

At some point, BG starts watching them from way up the trail, probably at the bend. The bridge is 850 feet long, and takes at least 5 minutes to cross, probably closer to 6 or 7 minutes due to its condition. The girls take their time some, but could have made it easily to within a short distance of the Southeast (SE) end by 2:15, maybe 2:17 or so.

At what time did BG put his plan into motion, making his way back to the bridge? 2:15? 2:17? 2:20? Etc.? I think he abducted them around 2:22 or so, maybe 2:25.

I wish LE would give us a timeline, they must know some of it based upon Libby's iPhone. Not sure it would help the case any, but a timeline would eliminate confusion for us.

LG’s quick thinking and bravery to hit record when she did is what will solve this case IMO. They must have sensed something bad was going to happen, imagine being so young and having those kind of thoughts run through your head. Thinking ‘I’ll press record because he’s going to hurt or murder us’.. it hurts to even think about. The fact that LG’s recording supposedly shows that he was following them helps LE to profile what kind of perp they are looking for, he’s a predator no doubt I just feel that her final actions are what will help catch BG.

The more I look at the picture we’ve got of BG- albeit very grainy, the more I think it looks like he’s hiding something in his jacket/pockets. Maybe when the girls noticed that he was concealing something that’s when they decided to snap that picture?

Yes, his voice does not sound the same. Down the hill gives me shivers . Like an excited calm in a deep grumbly voice
I have to agree that the voices do not sound alike. TB has a "higher" voice, imo, while BG's voice seems "lower."

But, I'm so reluctant to give up on TB as BG. Perhaps TB was intoxicated with the officer (certainly is acting like it, so irrational and angry), and in that agitated state, perhaps his voice goes up. I know when I'm upset, I get a higher voice too (hate when that happens) when my regular voice is not so high-pitched.

And perhaps when in command, BG would display a lower voice like we hear in "down the hill."

But....from these two samples, I don't think the voices sound alike. I'll listen again, but after a break. "Down the hill" creeps me out, and BG with the officer is infuriating to listen to - so annoying!!

At the end of the recording, when he is discussing the military, you can hear his "in control" voice. It is lower pitched and slower. At first I also thought it was far from a match, but he was (probably) drunk, and definitely out of control initially, so his voice is high and fast. When he feels back in control of the situation, his timbre completely changes, and he gets a low more gravelly sound. Interesting. Also, Libby's phone may have been in her pocket or concealed in her hand, so there might be a layer of muffling there.

There’s more of TB’s conversation with the trooper here :https://www.google.com/amp/s/fox2no...-supply-killer-caught-on-police-dash-cam/amp/

His voice sounds higher than BG’s voice. That’s my MOO.
Agreed. Once the trooper tells him he can leave, and TB seemingly starts to calm down, the tone of his voice changes a bit, however. He sounds somewhat similar to BG at that point, IMO, starting around the 3’25” mark:
“You work for me…I pay your taxes, ****!” – Alleged Catholic Supply killer caught on police dash cam

When he says “So I want you to ...,” his Michigan accent is noticeable, especially in the way he pronounces the word “So,” IMO. The rest of the time, he sounds lower Midwestern to me.

Here are my thoughts on TB as BG and why I think it’s probably unlikely. From St. Louis to Delphi is roughly 4.5-5 hrs each way. It’s not likely that TB would have driven 10hrs round trip. not to mention the hr or two that he would have probably hiked, stalked and waited for possible victims and then returned all the way back home without his wife or somebody knowing that he was not where he should be. So therefore, he would have more than likely of had to stay somewhere overnight , it's my belief that LE would very easily have been able to connect the dots by now if TB had been gone from home for an overnight around the time of the murders. Seems like a round peg square hole situation to me. Moo

Earlier I stated that the voice on the 'down the hill' audio sounded more like someone farther south like Kentucky. So I went to Google Maps and I see some of the cities like Louisville or Frankfurt are 3-4.5 hours away by car. While I was looking at the map I saw a familiar town name. French Lick, IN. I remember that a famous NBA player was from French Lick, Larry Bird. So I did a Google search and found 1984 interview with Bird. His accent is similar to the audio of the killer. (NO, I'm not implicating Larry Bird, he just happened to be the ONLY person I could think of from southern Indiana.) So I can see this person as being from a rural area in the southern part of the state. (Yeah, that really narrows it down.)

I think it is time for LE to have a refresher and maybe at the end show the photo and sketch side-by-side with the 'down the hill' audio playing. Somebody has to have someone they suspect!

While we are revisiting these points, here is one of Gray Hughes original videos of his take on the crime scene flow:

Thank you for joining us. Many of us believe he had a gun in his jacket pocket. I think it was used to force the girls “down the hill” but it was not the murder weapon.
