What were the numerous other factors that were considered in the beginning?

The main thing in my mind would be different witness accounts (for instance, we know a sketch was made just a couple of days after the crime that was not used until 2019).

The other two things that associate in my mind with the beginnings of investigations would be two of the first things investigators do: complete a victimology on the person who was murdered and complete a canvass of people who may have seen or heard something that pertains to the crime.

So two other possible factors would be anything that came to light in the victimology assessment or anything that came to light in the statements of those canvassed (could be searchers, could be neighbors, could be other people walking the trails, etc).

Another factor that LE could have had early on would be any kind of initial tip. Did it originally check out, but then with the rest of the information gathered since 2019, does it seem like it might mean something different?

And the other factor would be anything that was believed about the crime scene evidence itself early on, that changed in the course of the investigation. Sometimes as time passes there are different interpretations, as different technology or a different specialist's knowledge is brought to bear.

This must’ve been so difficult to investigate cuz of open public, midday way it went down - unless a witness literally saw the crime take place, it would be hard to have confidence that EG the witness’s description of who he saw in the area was even a description of the perp!

(That’s assuming there were no clues to be found anywhere beyond the scene ... as in LE checked the girls’ SM / texts / emails, talked to their friends & fam, etc, and didn’t find leads that went anywhere)

I am intrigued with your personal belief that the killer in this case *MUST* be over 50 - or at least appear to be over 50. And I will immediately pretense my following comment with the acknowledgment that I have not followed this case closely until very recently so I could have missed many details & innuendo. But what I'm wondering is: Did you make your determination of the killer's age based simply on the over-zoomed screen shot image of BG (who I don't believe has been *confirmed* to be the killer in this case)? Or have there been other details that have been release which indicate the killer is likely 50 or more years old? I completely understand that you presented this as your opinion only - but I can be the curious sort that sometimes strives to understand the perspective's of others. And you seem to be rather resolute in your opinion. ...so I'm curious what type of details brought you to form your opinions. (Absolutely NO disrespect intended with these questions btw. #justCurious)

I have always thought police have thought the person in Liberty German's phone video was probably their killer. I base my belief that the killer is over 50 or looks over 50 based on Libby's phone video. It is what I see in the video, which could be different from other people.

I also think the killer is probably a truck driver, but I have no idea how they committed the crime or where they parked their truck. I think he probably left that day and was not seen by any witnesses or at least remembered well enough to help LE.

I also think certain aspects of the crime, like having the girls cross the creek, however that happened is a patience inducing task considering cold water in February. People that are older tend to have learned patience a lot more than younger people in general.

The seclusion of the trail system and this aspect concerning privacy(having the barrier of the creek water between himself and any potential witnesses) has led me to also come up with a very loose opinion that maybe this is a person who does not like to be seen. I think there could be reasons for that such as maybe a disability or some other type of ailment. This opinion is very debatable because this is really just based on what I think without much to support it.

Hopefully this answers your questions.

Reading "where they parked their truck" reminded me that some over the road (OTR) truckers travel with a partner or spouse. I recall following some YouTube channels that document husband/wife teams that are professional, independent truckers. Just throwing that out there. . . I really don't have a strong/personal opinion about the possible involvement of a driving professional in this crime. IMO

hmm, I hadn’t realized there was evidence the girls crossed the creek under their own power ?

My assumption MOO always was the crime took place essentially right away, before entering the water, and that the perp took the bodies across himself to destroy dna evidence & hide them better, IMO speculation only. (Partly based on idea that splashing through cold water would involve lots of shrieking that would carry across the open area & reach others JMO.) Is this not consistent with known facts? Thanks

I have some strong feelings that JBC could possibly be BG — and yet the “grandfather-look” of the bridge footage is probably one of the greatest causes of any doubt for me.
Some questions: ( lol, your screen name again):
  • Do the baggy jeans and head down and hands in pockets necessarily have to be older? Why does it strike us this way?
  • Same question with audio.
  • Why is it that in over 4 years the audio and video never IDed BG?
  • Why does Chadwell’s own family say the audio and video are too short and unclear for them to make a positive identification ? Maybe they are, which is why they’ve been no help in 4 years.
I almost wish they’d put Chadwell in a hooded jacket and jeans and make him walk with his head down, and super-impose it on the tracks to see how he’d appear…

IMO never thought BG looked 50+, I’d say 30-40 (basically due to fullness of hair & apparent lack of “dropping” in facial musculature based on what little can be seen of silhouette) .... but I can see that his movements / walk seem bumbling, not strident, in a way that brings to mind the loss of strength & balance that comes w older age IMO.

I took that as a sign he was drunk, but then you all here pointed out it was most likely related to the uneven, falling apart boards of the bridge JMO

Ok, thanks. Maybe it was the voice that gave off the “grandfather vibe”?
