Hopefully any minors who interacted with the profile will come forward and will not be afraid of parents finding out. It also might help that they could be young adults at this point with the years that have passed. IMO
 
While we're waiting, this is a link to a juvenile sextortion cybercrime case that I've been following for years. The crimes were committed against juveniles before, during and after the murder of Libby and Abby. The perpetrator was finally sentenced this year.

It illustrates just how difficult it is to solve a cybercrime case and the number of agencies involved but it also gives insight to the lengths a perpetrator will go to get what he wants. There were 375 victims. And the perp used many different aliases.

The perp lived in CA and his victims were in Plainfield, Indiana, not far from Delphi. Coincidentally, Doug Carter worked on the case. Why the perp chose that area, I have no idea. I also have no idea whether he worked alone.

Is there a link to Libby and Abby? I don't know but it's been on my radar. Learning that this case possibly started with a cybercrime and its proximity to Delphi prompted me to take another look at it.

Perhaps they didn't discount the theory. Perhaps they just ruled it out publicly to make BG more at ease thinking they're not on his tail at all. If they confirmed there might be a social media link there was a risk that BG could try and erase some digital footprint or change his online behaviour which could make it harder to nail him down when / if they eventually made a breakthrough

I think it's more likely that there was no known link at the time, and this is merely a more recent (and very significant) development.
 
Interesting. Especially with the random “trooper on duty with highest authority available to give this release” vibe. I mean, this is a big case for ISP as well. But they’re not THE investigative agency so… if this wasn’t urgent it would’ve waited until tomorrow morning for Carroll Co/Delphi to release, or any of the other familiar LE faces who usually put this kind of info out. Instead it’s the PIO for the Lafayette area… idk, just seems strange and rushed to get it out there to me. Why?
Perhaps entirely coincidental, a silver alert went out today in Indiana for a 14 year old girl missing since October 26 from Richmond, IN. I don’t know how to add a link, I’m sorry. Anyway just wondering if perhaps there’s a link there - the subject of the alert has been missing for awhile, but maybe they’ve found something in her social media that they were able to connect to Delphi and therefore make both releases. Or maybe the two are totally unrelated and I’m just making up theories to force puzzle pieces into place.
 
So some news stations clarify that this silver alert is a reissue but don’t state why. In my personal experience I don’t believe it is normal to release silver alerts again to the media and what not, I usually see it as more of a “the silver alert for Jane smith 13 of Evansville is still active, she was last seen…” on the news. This silver alert was specifically reissued by the originating agency.
 
The number of Instagram accounts the anthony_shots account on Instagram is following has gone down from 443 to 339 in the past few hours since the news broke. Would the person running the account have to unfollow these accounts themselves or is there potentially another possible technical reason for it?

I’m just wondering if the news has broke and he has found out and he is reacting in panic mode.

You can remove people from following you… interesting that that many people are freaking out and doing so however. Hope LE is able to see the before and after on that.

Interesting! I think the persons following the account can 'force' an unfollow and vice versa by blocking and unblocking anthony_shots or just plain blocking him . I have done similar on instagram and twitter at various times. Maybe some of his followers did so as a result of the LE press release today!

I would expect and hope LE has foreseen this! What a total surprise this latest development is at this stage of the investigation, I sure didn't expect any progress at this point.

Thank you for this information. I was wondering if that is possible. I’m sure people would be concerned about this account following them just in case they are targeted online.

<modsnip- no link> I feel really sorry for him and hope his personal and professional reputation as a model is not affected when he is entirely innocent and he has done nothing wrong.

I’m reading online that the poor model guy whose pictures have been used is allegedly apparently being targeted online even though it has been made clear he has nothing to do with the murders. I think you’re right about people being concerned about being associated with that account. And there’s probably at least a few concerned parents who demanded to see their kids Snapchat/Instagram after seeing the release. Bet there’s a couple of nefarious reasons in there too… I’m an optimist.

I would love to know what has led to this development and why now. I’m looking forward to the press conference after he has been arrested and finding out more but trying not to get too ahead of myself. Maybe he has talked about the case online with someone and revealed information that only the perpetrator would know. I also thought maybe someone he has catfished has met him in person or seen him in a photo or video online and realised he looks like the sketch and contacted the tip line.

There are so many questions we all have about the case, hopefully he will be arrested as soon as possible and we will start getting answers to them soon. I hope and pray this happens for the girls families and law enforcement, I can’t imagine the incredible emotional toll and stress they have been under for nearly five years.

I hope so! It would be great if the news went viral on TikTok. It's the perfect outlet to get the attention of the audience LE is reaching out to. We saw how valuable it was in Gabby Petito's case.

I swear, I think that something was found in this missing 14 year old girls (so far, officially unrelated) phone. Otherwise, police departments in Indiana did two really weird but unrelated things with big sense of urgency today. And to be honest, I work an arms length away from LE in an opposite part of the state… teenage girls in Indiana disappear a lot and missing for a tad over a month is not… unusual. This could be just the police department there handling it way different than I’m used to but… to me it just makes no sense and is a heck of a big coincidence.

I think you might be right. It's kind of strange to release this new information about Abby and Libby now, knowing it might overshadow the search for Tout while at the same time reissuing a Silver Alert. I searched to see if there's a thread for her on WS but could not find one.

"Tout is described as being a white female, 5’5″, 120 pounds, strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and has a nose piercing.

She was last seen Sunday, October 26, 2021 at 7 p.m. and believed to be in extreme danger."

Courtney Tout missing from Richmond, IN
