Welcome back to the Delphi Murders discussion thread.

On the afternoon of Feb. 13th, 2017, best friends Abigail Williams and Liberty German were dropped off at a bridge in the town of Delphi. On Feb 14th their bodies were discovered around noon about 50 feet from the north bank of Deer Creek which is about 0.5 miles from the bridge.
The Sheriff's office gave a press conference on 4/22/19 and we have some solid information. Please take a look below

RULES OF THIS DISCUSSION

DO NOT post photos of random individuals (including persons featured in MSM articles about other area crimes) to compare to the images of unidentified suspect on the bridge.

PLEASE DO NOT POST PICTURES OF SEX OFFENDERS!

Do not sleuth family, PERIOD. This includes previous public records which have nothing to do with this case. They are victims here. Plain and simple.

If you feel you have a tip, by all means, phone it in. Do NOT discuss your tip here. Contact the authorities and give them time to follow your lead.

NOTE - per Tricia and Sillybilly’s 5.28.2021 post here, JBC as a poi is now open for discussion in the Delphi thread.

ADMIN NOTE:

Theorizing based on some known fact sourced from MSM or LE is fine, but there is no known fact to substantiate speculation about catfishing. Please move on from that discussion.

Also, a few reminders from TOS:

It is WS preferred policy to use initials only for anyone other than victims or perps.

If you have questions about rules or moderation, please do not ask them on the thread. Just private message a Mod or Admin for clarification.

Rumors are not allowed. If you can't link information to Websleuths approved sources, do NOT post it with "I read it somewhere" or "I'll find the link later ...".

Before you post something make sure what you are stating is FACT as we know it from MSM, LE or another approved Websleuths source.

Sleuthing or discussing RSOs just because they are on the registry is not allowed. A thread specific exception may be made by Tricia or an Admin depending on geographical location in relation a crime.

Photo alterations or side-by-side comparisons are not allowed.

I don’t think he necessarily needed a weapon to control them right away. If either one had sent him pictures, he could have printed one out and threatened to show everyone if they didn’t come with him.

not every sexual predator is a killer...and not any killer.. a killer who leaves a staged scene..
why would a peado with sexual fantisies take weapons and tools to commit murder of two ? while leaving a digital trace behind..

ADMIN NOTE:

With regard to some removed posts discussing the death of Kat Kohl, that discussion was previously ruled off limits by Tricia. Nothing has changed in that regard.

There is no MSM or information from LE to support speculation that the case is somehow connected to Abby and Libby's case.

That particular discussion is still off limits and if that position changes, members will be notified.

I'm not certain a weapon was necessary to control them at all.

IF the girls were en route to meet who they believed would be hunky, wealthy "Anthony Shots", they were likely in hyper-anxiety mode to begin with. Scared of getting "caught". Maybe (likely?) scared of possible rejection. In their minds, they're essentially going on a (woefully inappropriate) blind date.

And then what happens? Some other individual shows up. Distinctly different than the photos. They'd be confused. It would be mind-boggling. They'd likely be looking at each other, waiting for the other to "do something".

That adolescent mental/emotional turmoil might not have been that difficult to manipulate.

The "down the hill"-clip has always struck as me as decidedly non-threatening. Or at least non-aggressive. Suppose this lumbering guy shows up, instead of the Male model they were expecting, and one of them asks "Where's Anthony?"

Maybe he responds, "He's on his way. He's wants us to meet him down the hill."

That might have been enough for two frazzled young girls, overwhelmed with anxiety, to nod their heads and go along. After all, he might be unknown to them, but he says he "knows Anthony", and he is a grownup.

I'm just thinking out loud. The "Anthony Shots"-disclosure certainly changes the entire tone of this case.

Except that we know that there was additional audio of the girls, and that audio apparently didn't include anything suggesting a meet up.

Interesting. I'm definitely not a scholar on what audio exists or not. Has it been confirmed that neither of the girls were recorded mentioning a meet up at all?

I was under the impression that the only two known, confirmed bits audio are of the perpetrator.

According to interviews with one of Libby's family members, there is additional audio (from before "down the hill") of the girls talking about "girl stuff" but nothing relevant to the investigation.

This GH video talks about Abby's Mom describing what some of the audio has starting at around 47:00 mark.

Seeing a gun and hearing a gun are two things at around the 51:00 mark.

Someone in previous threads posted a list mentioning the above and...

Annie thinks Libby ran out of storage and did not turn her phone off

There were witnesses that say they saw BG when they were alone, but BG did not bother them.

None of the witnesses that saw BG can draw a picture of him.

There were no gunshot wounds

right .. so a murderer who lured thro SM .. would absolutely forget the phone
this makes sense ?
I don't think the girls were lured, and I don't think the killer "forgot" the phone.

I think the killer discovered what he thought was a perfect hunting ground and waited for suitable quarry.

I think he left the phone because he knew enough about technology to know that it could potentially be used to track him. He most likely didn't realize that he'd been recorded on video.
