Is it possible that whomever did the paperwork at the courthouse got it wrong (clerical error) and he is being held without bond? Two news sources are reporting no bond

I'm confused also. But if the two sources you are referring to are Fox59 and CBS4indy they are the exact same article.

Often in a plea agreements, the defendant knows(or has a good idea) how much time he/she will face ahead of time, but it is still up to the judge on the day of sentencing to go with the terms of the plea agreement(which usually has sentencing as part of agreement), or decide to sentence the defendant as he sees fit within the parameters of the law.
He may have to put house up for sale or rent, do any number of things if he is looking at a couple of years. How difficult not to know in advance, for anyone. Especially since he seems to be on his in the area. That could put a big burden on relatives if he simply does not go home at all until released for good.

I worry in advance about what my poor sisters or nieces may have to do on my behalf when I die, none of them live in the same state I live in. I am in my fifties but find myself weeding out my possessions all the time, just in case. (Also because I visit a much older woman who has no one in-state and her house is huge and packed stem to stern with stuff. Gives me nightmares, I rush home to my little apartment and throw more stuff away.)

So, two of the three PV allegations against RL were dropped, he admitted to driving to the transfer station, was given bail of $5,000 and has another hearing next week.

Is there a bonding company in Delphi? I hope he doesn't have to wait for the bondsman to come from another city and delay his release any longer than necessary and that the paperwork is completed before the dang courthouse closes.

I sure hope RL's friends have the cash in hand to secure a bond so he can go home and see his animals, (surely his neighbor was feeding his fish) sleep in his own bed and eat a good meal.

He needs to have one of those toxilyzers (sp?) installed in his truck so that he can't operate it after drinking but can still run errands and socialize when sober.

I hope that if he receives a sentence for driving to the transfer station, it will be for time served. IMHO he has already spent too much time in jail for such a minor offense.

Can we all just leave him alone now?

Great post. He is obviously innocent and nothing on him, no matching DNA, nothing or they wouldn't even risk releasing him would they. Even when LE says it's unrelated and he isn't a suspect people WILL still try and say there is something in the wording that means he is a suspect and always will I think but more fool them.

I think sadly for him his alibi was IMO a lie as he didn't want to tell them he had been driving that day poor guy. They found out. That's what IMO LE meant when they said some people have not been telling the truth due to previous criminal convictions and why he stopped speaking as was getting himself in a mess with the driving.

Not according to the court records. Trip to to buy fish wasn't part of the hearing. JMO by reading the records. Admitted to driving to the transfer station.

Perhaps that trip fell under the plea deal, i.e obstruction, if he failed to tell LE about it the first time they asked?

I am new to this case.44 threads!!WOW
Can someone tell me where they found Liberty's phone?
Thank you

We do not know. One site quoted the phone was phone on girls body but other Forum members said it was untrustworthy and maybe journalist was exaggerating. Those posters didn't know though just guessing. Who knows.

Can someone who tweets ask a reporter if his dog has been taken in by friends, etc? I mean, I assume so, but hopefully not to a shelter :( which is like doggie jail. If RL is about to serve time, the little dog needs a new longterm home.

And, what ab out his horses? Gosh, I hope all of his animals are being cared for.

I've obviously missed a lot. I took a break from this case as it's overwhelmingly sad.

It's a bit frustrating to see a possibly innocent man getting dragged through the mud.

I do not think RL is the killer. I don't know why anyone thinks he is. We all want to see someone arrested but this thread has gone wild with assumptions.
He is not innocent of the charges brought against him. It's on him that his name has been in the media, nobody else.

That said if this is all he is guilty of I hope that they give him an ankle bracelet and force him to stay home due to his age.

O/T, but I thought Indiana was changing the 2 for 1 as well? Maybe just for specific felony levels? Seems I had read that a few years back. I haven't lived there in several years, but still watch the local newspaper and occasionally see someone I grew up with or their children being sentenced.
Let me correct my earlier post abut DOC and level6 felonies. To go to DOC (state prison) your earliest release date has to be at least 366 days from date of sentencing (remember you get 2 for 1 credit so if you are sentenced to a year your ERD is 6 months out). Unless you are sentenced on a VOP that resulted from committing a new offense.

<mod snip>

Drink driving and RL's past is not so relevant now really is it?

He made a mistake and will serve his time and that's that.

Now lets find the murderer of Abby and Liberty...

His first conviction did had no driving. The second one had more piled on top and it ran consecutively ... as stated in the records.

I was replying to someone who thought he should be able to drive with a breathalyzer thing on his vehicle when he gets out of jail.

Yes, 100% possible and happens incredibly often when reviewing MyCase documents. Many times you will find that, the next day or so, the document will be edited to show the accurate information and the notation of clerical error.

Thank you for pointing this out [emoji171]

I may be pms'ing, but you know what really ticks me off? Libby left a voice and video, and this evil is still free. Uggghhh!

Disagree. Surprise!!

I felt certain that if RL got bond today LE would make a clear statement that he is not suspected of wrongdoing in the girls murders. If this is the case, imo they should make it known for his safety.
