I just keep thinking how dangerous that bridge looks with no railings- I can't believe that's open to the public to walk across.

And I pray they do look at information and photos sent in to them. They promised everyone that no tip was too small....please let that be the case. They need to look carefully at what they have received. I think the answer is in their possession now.

But both hands are in his pockets.

We certainly all agree with this. They must have what they need somewhere.

This is an interesting news report with a little history about the bridge.

"DELPHI, Ind. – Fencing will go up in the next few weeks to block foot traffic to the Monon High Bridge, an abandoned rail bridge near where two Delphi eighth-graders were hiking when they were killed Feb. 13.

The work at the 1891 bridge – abandoned in 1987 by CSX railroad and used as a de facto, though unauthorized, trail since then – is part of an agreement that will put the span 63 feet above Deer Creek into the hands of Indiana Landmarks and eventually make it an official part of the Delphi Historic Trails.

Indiana Landmarks included Monon High Bridge, the second highest rail bridge in Indiana, on its 10 Most Endangered list in 2016 and had been in negotiations with CSX to restore the bridge since 2012.

“This has been in the works for five years,” Tommy Kleckner, director of the Indiana Landmarks Western Regional Office, said Wednesday. “The timing of our negotiations, unfortunately, came at about the same time as this horrific tragedy in Delphi.”.....(more)

I agree about Libby using the "selfie camera" view. Meaning she may have had her back to him and took the video over her shoulder but was acting like she was aiming the camera up toward the trees a little but actually making sure the camera view cleared her shoulder and she could clearly see BG approaching. The girls were probably uneasy having him out there and felt their pulse quicken and felt that uneasy gut feeling kicking in. Who would ever think this guy was approaching to attack them? The girls were young and had no reason to think the UNTHINKABLE was about to happen. So Libby turned the video on to at least have proof of the creepy guy in case he DID do something to them [molest them, yell at them, try to push them off the bridge...something]. Her gut instinct was accurate. Very wise young lady to sense danger and act on it.

As others have noted, this is a different generation from us older folks (I'm in my 40's), and it makes sense they were taking pics out there, that day, and posting to SM. On a brisk walk on a paved, urban, and busy trail where I'm from (western NY), a few years ago, I passed. a group of teens who were taking their time on the path. I happened to turn my head after passing them (probably 70 feet or so), and sure enough one of the girls made a quick turn and snapped a pic of me at the same time. It never occurred to me at the time she may have been on SC.

I messed around in the same public park, many years ago, with my friends, it's an old railroad property on the Genesee River. Of course there were no camera or even many cell phones back then, but we had fun during those afternoons. I should have loaded up a camera with film a few of those times. Some acquaintances of mine found a victim of Arthur Shawcross in the park, down in the gorge, the day before Thanksgiving of '89. It saddens me that beautiful places can be sullied by the deeds of these monsters, but it happens.

I'm just so glad Libby had the presence of mind to record BG.

This explains the background behind the Snapchat pictures:

*I'm not sure if MSN so will just leave it here rather than try to explain
I was asking the question if LE released that pic on the 13th at 7pm cuz according to folkes here it would have been held in the phone for 7 hours. That means the time line would be completely false because the pic would have had to be taken at noon which doesn't fall into the sister dropping them off at 1.I'm not savvy to thing's SM related but thats how it read to me.

I think that was when someone took a screen shot of it.

Are you beating a dead horse, or are you flogging it? Why have you ended your relationship with said horse? Wouldn't you rather push water uphill with a rake? Let's have a separate thread for idioms.

That's my understanding as well. A friend or family member took a screenshot of the Snapchat photo and then at some point turned it over to LE.

I've not seen anywhere that LE released the Snapchat photo through the media on the evening of Feb 13th. It was after the bodies were found iirc.

I hope I didn't cause any confusion Imno.

The picture was taken at 2:07 according to LE. We see the picture as taken "7 hrs ago" which would mean LE must have retrieved it around 9 p.m..

I am sure that the LE time is the correct time of 2:07.

Two separate things.

The Snapchat photos were obtained on the 13th or 14th by the media because someone posted them up to Facebook (if I recall correctly because the DailyMail gives copyright credit to Facebook). One photo showing Abby on the bridge with the camera aimed North and a second photo aimed South showing the the bridge in that direction. The photos on Snapchat were accessed between 9:07pm and 10:07pm on the 13th by whoever went to Libby's story line and got them. When they got to Facebook and then to the media I don't know but it would be sometime after 9:07pm.

The images of BG released by LE came out on Wednesday the 15th between 7pm and 8pm. Those images came from frame(s) in a video and not from photos.

Good job Jethrow.I'd say you just summed up 3 or 4 threads for me right there.Thanks.

No ...The SC pics were sent to *a friend* @2.07(ish) who then later posted them on Facebook at 9:51pm when they were searching for them I guess 7hrs is just rounded off to hr??This was also the same discussion the lady who was at bridge soon after the girls posted in.

I lived one block over from where Shawcross lived at the time of some of the murders and his arrest. Scary times!
