I am going to admit I am curious as to why we aren't hearing more from other extended members of TS's family, to shed some insight as to why or how this horrendous situation even came about. There are other siblings/relatives that could have shared in the care, in some shape or form, of the deceased father/grandfather. We are not privy to that info currently, but knowing that for some reason TS felt she had to be there in that trailer park, unfortunately put her children in danger. And I truly wish the scenario could have been avoided:(

The other siblings probably had sense and believe he should die a lonely child molester.

Egad, the mom looks twice her age.

I know it isn't relevant. Except maybe to say that she was also subject to a scary kind of hard life.

Of course, you'd think that would make one more vigilant. But who has the time, what with Farmville and all.

This is a heartbreaking photo.

I'm not defending the mom or her choices. But seeing this photo brought back a time when many of us relied on someone we trusted's word on whether or not someone else was worthy of our trust. I think back to the days before the internet. The days before I found WS and started following various cases. In the 80's and 90's I could have easily been someone who took the word of a close trusted friend or family members word regarding someone I hardly knew or had concerns about. I have. Many times later, I learnt that trust was not something I should have given so easily. Fortunately I never found myself with similiar consequences for misplaced trust....

In reality she is a young mother, (fairly young imo). She probably trusted her grandfathers word, and perhaps trusted that as she had seen he had not re-offended. Maybe she even believed he had a better idea of these offenders because he himself had offended and been in the prison system. Yes, it was costly. Yes, this is the most difficult lesson she will learn in her liftetime. A lesson I wouldn't wish on anyone. Because as a parent, I wouldn't wish the pain of losing a child on anyone, at any age.

This photo just really really saddens me. :(
Why would this man, the sex offender grandfather, have been allowed around young girls? Why would the owners of the trailer park encourage someone with young girls to move in. WHY would the mother, who knew her father was a child molester...and statistics show she may have been molested by him as well....would she allow the girls out of the house for a solid week in a jungle of pedophiles. She has no idea whether or not her father offended again, she just knows he didn't get caught. That poor little girl didn't stand a chance....nor will the other two if they stay there.

I wonder if the wheelchair is the one that belonged to her dying father.

BBM

Look closely at the photo of Tarah in the wheelchair. She is at the vigil and is holding a candle.

Celina Cass's mother immediately took to a wheelchair following her daughter's discovery. Perhaps it is more common than not?

BBM I was thinking the same thing.

Exactly ... and look at the timing. The little girls out of school for two weeks and she just happens to contract the flu at the same time. I'm not saying that's what she was doing (but it's not hard to tell by looking at her FB), playing farmville, but it has been the reason for the death of at least one other baby.

I'm sorry, from what I've read tonight (cuz I work during the day), the mother knew her child had a tendency to sleep walk, and yet she let her stay with this man without sufficient locks on his door to keep her from walking out into virtual hell. I'm struggling to find pity....sympathy...empathy....I got nothin.

<modsnip>

For some reason I'm thinking I heard her grandfather was in a wheelchair...which would make sense if he had lung disease and carried around oxygen.

I am right there with you, neese! And I'll be 43 in a few days . . . it's so funny to me how people are on FB all the time. We know BOTH sets of parents have been playing FB games for over a week now due to the lack of privacy controls they had their pages set prior to today.

Happy early birthday then, fellow Capricorn. I will be 44 on Jan. 2nd so I have you by a year. Yeah I don't get the whole fb thing of having to tell people what you're doing every second of the day. And I don't want people to know that I'm at Walmart or anywhere. The way it's set up now with the phones and all, it's a stalker heaven.

Miami Herald - May 18, 2000 - 29MB Neighbors BC BUS DRIVER PUNCHED FOR REFUSING TO GIVE FREE RIDE A man punched a Miami-Dade bus driver after the driver told him he couldn't get on without paying the fare. Sammie Lee Prater, the driver, had stopped at the 17th Street and Collins Avenue stop in Miami Beach to pick up Michael Plumadore at 10:50 a.m. May 8. When Plumadore, 26, of 1515 N. Miami Ave., got on the bus, he reportedly told the bus driver he had no money. When Prater told him to get off, Plumadore punched the bus door then he punched the driver, according to the...

There is a wheelchair ramp on the grandfathers trailer.

Do you have a link to verify as fact the owners of the trailer park encouraged anyone with young girls to move in?

Is it relevent to this case who the wheelchair belonged to?

I guess it maybe is not relevant to the case to whom the wheelchair belonged. But I do think that it speaks volumes about the character of the people who were SUPPOSED to be caring for this murdered child.

I am always suspicious of 'sudden' illnesses in people under suspicion. Whether it be the suspicion of the public or LE. And doggone it, this 'mother' has made some deplorable decisions regarding the care of her children and now we are supposed to feel sympathy for her because she is in a wheelchair? And one that appeared suddenly and looks to be a hospital rental? Poor poor me. I am so sick that I could only spend all night online and not care about my children who were in the care of my RSO daddy's BFF.

I am not accusing her of anything more than AWFUL and ultimately criminal neglect. I really don't want to get a TO or get banned, but I just cannot sit here and NOT call a spade a spade.

I am sorry for those children that remain. Nobody else.

You are clearly a compassionate and generous person.

That said, and I am sure you would agree, this passes a bit beyond a simple misunderstanding or the betrayal of a friend. She didn't entrust Mike with her checkbook or the keys to her car our house, she gave him her children.

She gave him her children. For a WEEK. A man that she truly hardly knew. She gave him her little girls to feed and nurture, to tuck into their (or his) bed, to bathe and dress and dare I say undress.

Her excuse? She had the flu. Dad was working nights and the kids couldn't be there at night -- not that this makes sense but then none of it makes sense unless you assume that there is more to this story than we are being currently told.

The last time mom saw her daughter was tuesday afternoon after school. Mike killed the girl on thursday morning. Mom didn't even notice the absence until friday evening because, as I said, she gave her daughters to this man.

I would like to know WHY. I don't want to hear about night shifts, because that's absurd on it's face. I don't want to hear about the flu -- of the hundreds of posters following this case not one, not ONE, has ever even considered giving away his or her children because they were sick. It's ridiculous.

Mom gave away her daughters to this man for a reason, and I have no trouble believing that it wasn't the first time.

This is near my area of the state and everyone is beyond shocked at the depravity of the crime. Even the veteran police officers are asking for counseling. It just is so hard to wrap our heads around it. We hear about these sort of things on the news or certain TV shows, but not in our own backyard. I cannot remember any local child in the area being hacked up and stored the way this poor little girl was, plus all of the other extenuating information just adds to the difficulty in wrapping our heads around it. All of NE Indiana is grieving over this, and asking why and how this happened. May the Lord comfort those left behind, and may her little soul rest in peace forever, in Jesus' Name, amen.

About 1,027 alerts on this thread alone. Will re-open in few min after I sweep through and clean up.

Hang on.

Before I re-open this thread, please review:

1.) NO linking to any Facebook pages except those of the mother and/or perp. Absolutely NO LINKING TO ANY FACEBOOK "SUPPORT" TYPE PAGES unless they have been mod-approved. As of now, there are none of those.

2.) The link to one of those FB pages perpetuated a rampant RUMOR that the mother is paralyzed. I seriously doubt that is the case or MSM would have reported it by now. That is EXACTLY why we don't allow FB discussions from those pages to be brought over here. It confuses the situation and leads to misinformation.

3.) While I completely understand the anger directed toward the mom and grandmother, keep in mind we don't allow bashing for the sake of bashing ANYONE here. I understand as well as anyone the emotional toll the facts of this case are taking, HOWEVER that does not give everyone free reign to relentlessly bash.

I read the last 100 or so posts and removed quite a few - mainly those perpetuating the FB paralyzation rumor. If anyone can provide me a MSM link, we will open it up for discussion. Otherwise, stay away...far away from that discussion.

Thanks.

Is WANE considered MSM? I thought I had read several links from that affiliate here, but if it's still not considered MSM, then I apologize.

It states that TS does indeed have 'temporary' paralysis, but they expect her to be better in a few days.

If this is not MSM, then please delete.

ETA the article totally butchered the spelling of Aliahna's name, so who knows?
