Baby still missing after May 10 birth
Posted: May 17, 2010

After searching an apartment, a Downtown neighborhood and two trash dumps, police by Sunday had not found a baby apparently born to a woman last week.

The baby girl has been missing since she was born in an Eastside apartment May 10, police said. The 19-year-old woman who gave birth has told police several versions of what happened, including that she placed the infant in a trash container after she gave birth.

Tasha Miller is being held at Methodist Hospital for treatment. She is not under arrest, according to Lt. Jeff Duhamell, spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, but detectives are continuing to investigate the case.

Mother of missing baby stays quiet in court

A week after an Indianapolis woman gave birth, police remain hopeful her newborn is still alive.

Late Monday afternoon, 19-year-old Tasha Miller appeared in court to answer questions in the case. Marion County Juvenile Court Judge Marilyn Moores asked Miller where her newborn was. But she wouldn't answer the question, citing her Fifth Amendment right not to give testimony which could incriminate herself. Earlier in court, a friend of the mother testified on Sunday that Miller told her the child was dead.

bbm This sounds oddly like EJ.....:furious::furious:

so she had no problem going to the hospital to save her own life
but her baby doesn't deserve to even be given up to someone who would care
disgusting

where is this midwife person?

Or is there a midwife person?

There were scissors and a hunting knife
found on the her bloody mattress.

It sounds like it was just her alone with the baby, unless,
the roommate knows more than he is saying. IMO.

Be interesting to know if forensics can identify the dna
of the baby from any evidence left behind, such as,
blood or fluid.

Judge delivers deadline to missing baby's mom

Her family attended a hearing Wednesday in juvenile court where a caseworker with Indiana's Department of Child Services said Miller gave conflicting accounts about what she did with the newborn.

Miller's lawyers argued her statements could incriminate her and advised her not to talk.

Police still hold out hope for the baby, who a witness in the case said was named Raina Grace.

"The plea is that anyone with information about anybody having a newborn baby, that they know the family didn't have anyone pregnant in that family, or if they knew that no adoption procedures were going on, an infant that just shows up at a house and taken in as their own. If somebody has any questions about that again, they can direct their inquiries or their tips to Crime Stoppers."

A juvenile court judge says Miller has until Friday afternoon to produce the child or face possible contempt charges. If that doesn't happen, the Marion County Prosecutor's office could pursue charges against Tasha Miller.

Bless you, little Raina Grace.

Documents: Indianapolis woman says she killed her newborn, put body in trash bin

WTHR-TV, relying on the documents, reports Wednesday the 19-year-old mother told a Department of Child Services case worker that she massaged the baby's throat since it was sputtering, and she may have "pushed too hard on her throat."

The woman told the case worker "she thinks she killed her baby" and placed the body in a trash bin behind her apartment.

She thinks she killed her baby and threw her in the trash?

What is this, the 5th or 6th version of the events this "mommy" has put out there?
WTH is wrong with her?

I spent a couple hours in juvenile court late this afternoon on one of the more bizarre cases I've seen. At the end of the hearing, a Marion County judge ordered a mother to produce her missing infant by the end of the week after the woman had refused to testify about the baby's whereabouts in court.

I'm getting the idea this woman was/is psychotic (PPP?), and/or was on drugs at the time of the little baby's birth.

It's just horrible. I'm glad LE are still looking for little Raina. Bless them.

So reminds me of the Baby Gabriel case. This girl sounds like she took a page out of EJ's story.
