Daisy Belle Marshall
Marshall was last seen at her residence in Evansville, Indiana on June 15, 1993. Her former husband told police he saw her around 2:00 p.m. before he went to take a nap and when he awoke, she was gone. The couple had divorced in early 1993, but he had moved into her apartment in the 200 block of east Tennessee Street in April. He said she'd dropped out of sight before and he expected her to return. She has never been heard from again.
Marshall was reported missing by her daughter a week later when she failed to appear at a family gathering. Her purse, jewelry, money, and medicine were found inside her home. Authorities learned that she quit her job at a local tavern the day before she disappeared. On the day she was last seen, someone delivered a dozen roses to the tavern with a card reading "Daisy." Marshall promised to stop by to pick up the flowers, but she never did.
Marshall's ex-husband was seen driving Marshall's black Chevrolet Corvette days after her disappearance. In early July, he left the area abruptly and resurfaced a few days later in Orlando, Florida. He was tried for Marshall's murder in 1999 even though her body was never found. After six hours of deliberation, the jury acquitted him of all charges. He remains the prime suspect in his ex-wife's disappearance. Foul play is suspected in Marshall's case due to the circumstances involved.
