I think he was making that up about looking for her on the floor and then seeing her fall. Reason number 78 why accused people should not do interviews on national tv.

One of the photos included in the civil case is a shot taken between the rail and the window, you can see through the lower window to where she landed. It could be what he meant by "I looked for her on the floor"

With him holding all her weight far away from his body, in the open air, he put himself in a position to be highly likely to drop her and/or lose his balance. (The South Bend Indiana Police only know what they were told and should not have weighed in, but obviously they were trying to support Mr. Wiegand.)

IMO this is not the only time that SA has shown a lack of sense around the children but that's just MOO.

In the original NBC interview, KW seems to protest a bit too much when she says that "Sam has never put our children in danger" or something to that effect. I remember thinking "WTH?" Sounds to me that she's trying too hard to defend Grandpa 's child care skills. IMO, the man never should have been charged with Chloe's care on the ship. They might not be willing to admit it publicly, but I'll bet Chloe's parents regret their decision to allow Grandpa to watch his "bestie" while they were elsewhere on the ship.

That’s probably because of this narrative ~

"The only way that you can prove or disprove anything that Sam said is based on the video and based on his testimony … Those are the only pieces of evidence you have," Winkleman said. "There were no eye witnesses. There's no one who's come forward to tell any different story. … So all you have is Sam's testimony, his story and the video."

Yes, that must be why I initially thought few people were around...then they released the pic of Chloe by the wading pool area.

Hoping this works. This is the civil complaint and demand for jury trial that can be found publicly on PACER if you have a login. It has the families timeline as well as scene photos

Another interesting take from July 8:
Initial reports claimed her grandfather, named as Salvatore Anello, dangled her from a window, but South Bend Police Department have since said that this is not true. They said Chloe slipped from his hands after he lost his balance, WSBT reported.

Smoke and mirrors, folks.

Not true , SBPD is wrong.
SA's feet were firmly in place on the deck.
There was no 'losing his balance'.
Strange... as at this time the SBPD wouldn't have viewed the video evidence yet ?
I get that they want to defend A. Wiegand who is a police tech or patrol officer ; but before even knowing the full truth ?

"There were no eye witnesses" is wishful thinking on Winkleman's part. I think it's safe to assume that investigators questioned every one of the passengers who were in that area of the ship at the time of the incident.

This is the camera that is overlooking the area but it looks like it’s facing the pool area rather than the window. It could be the one that captured SA crouching down.

Remember I’m not on the Freedom of the Seas but I’m sure it’s a similar layout.

I’m buggered why all my photos are sideways no matter how I aim the camera
It’s iPhone - I can’t figure out how to size them down so I can actually upload - I just uploaded pics for our RCCL check in and had to use the large photo option A I’m afraid I won’t be able to upload anything to WS this weekend but you did a stellar job

Thank you for the photos !
Don't worry about the angle-- much clearer to see what the deck and surroundings are like.

I copied the statement below directly from the civil complaint. It sounds exactly like a statement the PR prosecutor will make but the word "Chloe" will be used instead of "Plaintiff".

"39. At all times material hereto, it was the duty of Defendant to provide Plaintiff with reasonable care under the circumstances."

I'm glad you said that because I didn't see him lose his balance either. I intend to watch again and look for just that.

I thought the video would be much clearer. Sometimes I think I can see him lifting her far out but other time I’m not sure. It’s so busy in the video and the view is not great. I wouldn’t want to take this to a jury trial if I were him.

FYI: pdf/image of Wrongful Death Complaint is also available thru law firm's website.

Spanish tv is wacky. No offense intended at all - my ex is from Cenral America and I've seen a lot of Spanish-speaking shows. It's just a different style.

I also go to their news sites as much as I can with this case because there's more chance of getting the facts and less trying to cover things up to avoid hurting someone's feelings or whatever.
I think that’s good idea, going to their news sites. A really good idea. So you think they’re more honest and trustworthy?

All this horrid noise maybe SA felt the same looking after Chloe and was just pissed off too. I think us oldies call it ‘doof doof music’ I need a drink.
@they'll get you :) You need a drink? Me too, but this time, my shout.;):D

"Doof - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doof
Doofs generally have healing workshops, speakers, art, live artists and DJs playing a range of electronic music, commonly goa, house, dub techno, Techno, acid heavy sounds and psychedelic trance. "Doof doof" is an Australian term for loud electronic music centred on a heavy bass drum kick."

This is what ABC says:
"La Comay, voiced by a once struggling comedian named Antulio “Kobbo” Santarrosa, is at the epicenter of a strange conjuncture between entertainment gossip, tabloid journalism, and what some might consider investigative reporting. Her show, which could be described as a cross between TMZ and 60 Minutes, has become a kind of town hall for the small-town culture that permeates the island, with La Comay playing the old lady of the barrio, chief gossip and guardian of the truth. “Santarrosa has used some very specific elements of Puerto Rican culture and exploits them,” said Sandra Rodríguez-Cotto, a publicist and columnist for local newspaper El Vocero. The show has been on the air for 13 years. In the US, it airs on Wapa America, which is seen in 5.2 million homes. "
