JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — Police in southern Indiana are actively searching for an “armed and dangerous” woman accused of driving away after hitting and killing her 18-month-old granddaughter in a motel parking lot in Jeffersonville.

According to WDRB, our news partners based in Louisville, on Monday afternoon the Jeffersonville Police Department identified the driver of the car that hit Eleanor Campbell as her grandmother, 51-year-old Lisa G. Tesch.

The 18-month-old Campbell was severely injured on Friday morning at the Motel 6 on Hospitality Way, which WDRB reports is near Eastern Boulevard and Interstate 65. She was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville with a police escort, where Jeffersonville police said she later died.

According to updates from Jeffersonville Police on Monday, Campbell’s grandmother Tesch has been identified through numerous sources and security cameras as the driver of the car.

The 51-year-old was driving a white Chevrolet Trailblazer with a Kentucky license plate KY:A9Z280, WDRB reports.

Jeffersonville officials who spoke Monday said they do not want anyone to approach Tesch or her vehicle, pictured below, if seen. This is because the woman is considered armed and dangerous and “is a safety risk due to her commitment to evading law enforcement,” WDRB reports.

Here I was, just reflecting on the great joy that my granddaughter has brought to my life. We picked wild strawberries together on Sunday afternoon and talked about how the fairies leave little treats hidden under the leaves.

What kind of monster murders her 18 month old granddaughter?!!

Idk how to give you an angry and ❤️ at the same time. I love your story about your little granddaughter. Reminds me of my two when they were little. Now I have a lovely 20 month great granddaughter to do it all over again. She was over yesterday for my birthday with her little sunglasses on. She was so cute.

This grandma sure looks mean! I hope she pays dearly. In hell…

I guess I just had to look at this new case, becauseI just couldnt believe what I was reading.

Lately, I have become too overwhelmed with all these horrible cases of hurting and killing children... I just have to step away from following any of them. It is too so painful seeing so much pain and misery brought to innocent little ones.
Hopefully...they get this one FAST.

She is considered armed and dangerous and is a safety risk due to her commitment to evading police, officials said.
If anyone has any information regarding Tesch, or her vehicle's, whereabouts they are urged to contact the Jeffersonville Police Department at 812-285-6535 or the anonymous tip line at 812-218-TIPS (8477).

My first thought upon reading this headline was that maybe the grandmother ran off because she was so horrified that she had hurt the baby. I could see her driving away to hurt her self somehow.

However, as the police are looking for her and consider her possibly armed, I don’t know what to think. It’s beyond my reasoning to understand that a grandmother would do this on purpose. The outcome would be the same whether it was an accident or on purpose. I’m so sad for this granddaughter that was so happy to see her grandmother.

So incredibly sad.

MOO

Yes,I find myself taking long breaks from the Crimes Against Children section. And then when I come back, I leave again.

18-month-old Eleanor Campbell, reportedly ran towards the car "out of excitement to see her grandmother", a probable cause affidavit revealed.

I’ve been laying here for hours since I read this. In the quiet dark. Thinking. About the look on little Eleanor’s face as she saw Grandma. I just don’t think I can return to crimes about children anymore. I’m sorry.
