The man accused of killing a woman in an undeveloped part of Catholic Cemetery allegedly set fire to items on top of her body, according to a court document.
Quinn Joseph Albers, 20, of Fort Wayne, was charged with the murder of Katherine M. Gick, 30, of New Haven. According to an Allen County Coroner's Office news release, there were indications of both blunt-force trauma and sharp-force trauma...
Albers didn't deny committing the offense, the affidavit said, however he told police he had abused bath salts and did not remember any of the events leading up to Gick's death, according to the documents.

Attorneys for the 20-year-old man accused of killing a woman in a local cemetery and setting her body on fire are asking a court to appoint mental health experts to examine him. On Friday, Quinn Albers' attorneys also informed the court they intend to use a defense of mental disease or defect....
In the cemetery, investigators found the disrobed body of a woman identified as 30-year-old Katherine Gick. Her body displayed obvious signs of trauma to her head and neck, and items set on top of her had been set on fire, causing burns to her torso, pelvic area and arms.
When he was caught by police, Albers was carrying a black bag with knife handles and a knife blade coated with red stains and possible human tissue. Albers had blood on his hands and torso, as well as injuries consistent with being in a fight, according to court documents.
