Trial was set to begin on 12/12/23 continued on 5/14/24.
Judge Steven P. Meyer presiding. Public defender Montrell Dionte.

8/28/23 Update: Jolly appeared for his initial hearing Monday for Tippecanoe County charges of murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in catastrophic injuries, aggravated battery & battery resulting in death to a person younger than 14. He also faces a sentence-enhancing charge of being a habitual offender. Tippecanoe County Magistrate Sarah Wyatt read the charges & possible penalties if he is convicted, including between 45 & 65 years in prison for murder & possibly an additional eight to 20 years in prison if he's convicted of being a habitual offender. Judge Wyatt appointed a public defender for Jolly, who then asked for a bench trial. Judge Wyatt explained that any requests for a bench trial or a speedy trial would need to be in writing and from his attorney. Jolly clarified that he meant speedy trial, not bench trial. Judge Wyatt again explained he needed to consult with his public defender. Court sets no bond. Next pretrial conference on 11/17/23 @ 8:30am & trial set to begin on 12/12/23 @ 8:30am before Judge Steven P. Meyer. 8/31/23 Update: Public Defender Appearance. For Party: Jolly, Montrell Dionte.

@Niner Just wanted to say, I so appreciate your tracking these cases through the justice system long after the news coverage disappears. I know others do as well. Thank you for your dedication in trying to make sure we all get - the rest of the story.

You (& others) are quite welcome. I do not mind doing this! Since I follow these cases - I might as well share my notes! :D And yes, a lot of news coverage disappears after awhile unfortunately. ...

Yes! And @FrostedGlass too! It’s so easy to let cases slip through as new crimes occur, thank you both for remembering so many victims and updating the court dates!

I'll run through them this afternoon.

Okay Thumbs Up Smiley
